Well this announcement of the U22-XJ is very good news (even if I am a little late to the thread :D)

I will be getting the U22-XJ just as soon as it come available in my area. I will also be installing CoreElec just as soon as they have support for the U22-XJ. No only do I not like the android OS, but I have no reason to use it as the only thing I use my minix boxes for is watching movies/TV I have on my hard disks. I have computers for anything internet related. I only need Kodi, which is what CoreElec has.

Equally happy to see USB3 ports on the box.

So maybe by Christmas. (y)(y)(y)

So far it's the U22 for the win (y)

Yes, the A2 / A3 is a complete remote control that does everything.
Of course I think it's better to wait now, because a new model of MINIX airmouse will probably be coming soon.

Ah, an A4 is on the way. Will definitely wait then. Curious what the features will be.

There is an extension in the KODI called "Keymap Editor" that you can use to define a task for each key.
After you buy it, I can teach you ;)

Thank you. I recall reading something about that. A customized remote would be very useful.

I will definitely buy U22 :)

Hi friends

1 - The U22 does support what capacity external hard drive?

2 - Should the hard disk used in Android Box have a separate power supply? Or can a portable hard drive be used?

Have MINIX released any details for the maximum supported HDD size for the U22?

2.5 TB is officially the max supported size for the U9-H, although I & other users have used powered HDD's as large as 8 TB.

8TB HDD with or without power supply?
Doesn't this cause a problem for the device?

Remembering your query is regarding the U9-H, (not the upcoming U22 ;)), I'll answer but if you'd like more details then PM me directly my friend :).....

I used powered HDD's without a hub. Infact, before I upgraded to dedicated NAS servers I had 3 x 8 TB HDD's directly connected to a U9-H simultaneously, (2 x Seagate Backup Plus 8 TB, & 1 x WD My Book 8 TB).

Multiple mobile/unpowered HDD's definitely need a powered hub as a single connection point or users run into various problems, but the U9-H certainly handled my directly connected powered desktop HDD's without any problems at all :).

(As a side note, initially the U9-H would only detect one of the Seagate drives when they were connected together despite both HDD's being renamed. I long formatted both of them from a Win PC (NTFS) & solved that small problem too.)

Hi "John"
That's not strange
Naming the air mouse of Minix is as follows: A2/A2 Lite »»» A3
So in terms of user, the next version will most likely be called A4

Firstly, what is strange is that you started the rumor, the first post does not mention a new Minix Air Mouse so why would you assume there will be one coming soon? This is exactly what we try and avoid on this forum, it is confusion for the masses.

Is this your way of saying there is no new MINIX airmouse coming soon ?
Secondly, the forum rules are rather clear, please familiarise yourself with them:
"Don't ask for releases dates! Firmwares or updates or bug fixes will be released only when ready. All posts asking for ETA will be deleted without comments. This is also valid for hardware releases."

I apologize. But I didn't mean rumor. I use Google translator to write things and Sometimes I may not say what I mean correctly. In our language, the "new model" and "new version" have similar meanings. I also used the word "probably" in my sentence:
Of course I think it's better to wait now, because a new model of MINIX airmouse will probably be coming soon.
However, I try to pay more attention from now on
