sorry guys, too late. I just ordered something else with an AMLogic 922x. I had enough of waiting for the neo x39 that was announced at the IFA last year.

Obviously we were expecting the T5 :)!!

Great to see the U22-XJ & G41-V4 (N42C-4 upgrade successor) finally confirmed officially & receive their proper names/designations too :).

Sounds like some absolutely awesome kit :). Should give the masses something to look forward to :).

I'm really excited for the Minix NEO U22-XJ. With these specs, I think it will be the first certified AndroidTV device to give the nVidia Shield a run for its money. Competition is good. Super excited to get my hands on this box.
I honestly don't think there will be any competition at all.The Shield is currently plagued with issues after it's new OS release.

The X39 was a rockchip device. You're comparing apples to oranges. It sounds like it's your loss, since I can't think of any other 922x devices that are Google certified.

It would have been. Had it ever been released.
I am not comapring anything to anything. I got excited for the announcement last year. Waited and waited so I could replace the aging U9H with something. I have a shield hooked up to the tv in the living room, but I wanted something with a less fancy looking but comparatively performant for the wall mounted display in another room. the x39 would have been perfect.

I personally thank MINIX for being up front and honest, and not releasing a device that they felt would of been a disappointment for most. If it took another year to do more testing and insight to get things right ( we'll see ) good on them !! To me it shows that they care about their customers and not just about selling devices......as some have suggested in the past that they don't care ;)

I have an X39 at home. I was sent a sample unit for testing. I agree. It wasnt fit for public use. It takes a pretty solid company to withold the release of a product to protect its users.

2.1 ?!
Does it support 8K?

Hopefully soon MINIX will produce an Android box with two HDMI outputs.
One for picture and the other for sound.

Nope :(
VPU level we have native support for H.265 video and VP9 up to 4K@75fps with latest generation HDR support
