Looking forward to the release of the T5 and U22 !!

A few questions... will either have voice control through the remote ? And what are the pros and cons of AndroidTV vs Android ? This will help make it easier to decide.

I actually need two units, one for my mother and one for myself. Mom will need an 'easier to use' box similar to the cable that she's used to.
For myself I'd need a box that will play .ISO files as I have a large collection of my movies/tv series in ISO format and the ability to connect my 8TB HD to the box via USB port.

Thanks....
T5 - android tv - More limited android
U22-XJ - normal android - You can do more .
I prefer normal android.
It is a matter of personal choice with pros and cons....
Minix boxes with standard android come with minix metro launcher and is also very easy to use, user friendly.

Hi Reza,
Maybe there's one on the hidden side but you are right, we can't see it with informations we have !

This morning I was thinking the same thing.
The boxes that i have all have the power button.
I dont have enough information to confirm but i think T5 like the other new boxes released soon must have a power button and in my opinion it makes sense and it very useful to be like this.

Just an FYI for everyone - I spoke to John and the NEO U22-XJ will not be AndroidTV. The NEO U22-XJ is standard Android. Same as all previous NEO models, just more powerful.

The T5 will be AndroidTV.

This is probably a very important info.

As well as because according to the video, being the T5 the "first Minix hub to have Google certification" and since no one ever mentioned the U22 as having Google certification (as I was also reading about it in external press), how can we not doubt that in spite of all its outstanding features, the U22 will be ok to deal with Netflix and HBO apps?

I really thought that only Google certified hubs could reach the superior definitions for those types of services. As it was also my belief that, in what media hubs are concerned, only the Android TV ones would get Google certified.

Not that it matters to me. I do prefer pure Android, and modern TV sets are capable to deal with those services, Google certification means very little to me. I just think that, should this be the case, and the U22 having the same issues to handle these services as the U9-H has, due to the lack of Google certification, it should be left very clear as a no go for those that are really interested in getting these services running in the box.

At this following article they even go further and mention about the T5 that although it is Google certified: "Netflix not yet" ?!...

I really don't wish to be a dream breaker, maybe there is something I am missing here that will allow the ones interested about it to be optimistic on getting Amazon, HBO, Netflix, going full res in the U22 (or even in the T5 should the above article be correct, my fingers crossed that it is not!)

But I think Minix has removed the power key in this box
That's because Minix wants to simplify everything in this box to make it cheaper
Just as the number of USB ports has been reduced to 2 (only one of them is USB 3.0)
Only 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage memory. There is also no USB Type-C port

Full features are provided for the U22

We have to wait for more information about T5 and other boxes to be sure.
