No 5+1 / Dolby Digital Sound?

Hi guys, does anybody got working the dolby digital sound from NEO U9-H via SPDIF?
I have an older Marantz amplifier, that doesn't receive the HDMI so I HAVE to use optical out, and I can't seem to get anything else other than the stereo sound out of the BOX :( I did set the digital output to spdif in the settings, not sure about the DTS and Dolby options...
Tried Amazon Prime video and BSPlayer app (with AC3 codec) , will try Kodi (with passthrough option as well) once I figure out how to load my movies from my PC server there...

Any advice would be appreciated!

There is a way through kodi. I use spdif and it works. What are the issues that you have with your library?

Many thanks for your comment, glad it can be done!
As for your question, I need to figure out how to access my shared windows 7 folders on Kodi 18 that came with the box. I owned NEO X8-H Plus before with XMBC/Kodi 15 which had a different interface which I found easier to do stuff with... Will have to google this, or watch some youtube tutorials I think.

Yes . it is a difference GUI kodi 18 but the process is the same: (check this for videos)

When you are familiar with kodi 18 GUI you will find it even better and easier , i am from XBMC beginning (xbox only), so i tested almost (if not all ) all releases ☺

I preferred the confluence skin, you can install this on Kodi 18 too:

I never change skin. I always use the default skin. We have a lot of skins to choose ☺ and pretty ones also.
Some of the reasons i don't change is because i like the default skin, i think will bring less bugs and work better

follow the linked suggestions but you may find you have to change the SMB Client options in Kodi service settings to a lower protocol ( SMBv1)

Rui is it possible on Kodi 17 and 18 on Confluece skin add codec info like in Kodi 16 and before. On Kodi 17 and 18 codec info is very limited.

I used confluence but now i use estuary (kodi 18 5)
Like i said i always use kodi default skin , for me is good enough and have everything i need , i like it ☺.
However i tried others skins just for testing.

And maybe moving some information of this thread to a new one :
"Kodi configuration and skins used" ☺

Thanks a lot guys! very helpful stuff will check those links now, it was first day of using new Kodi, after quite a few years of using the old version...

Now going slightly back to my original question, did any of you managed to get dolby digital sound from Amazon Prime Video app?

Maybe it's not possible, I've seen some people complaining about the lack of DD / DTS or better multichanel audio as well even with HDMI..

I don't have a Netflix, but I've checked some TV series from Amazon Prime (like Preacher fro example) and those releases all had a Dolby Digital
sound...
