Kodi/XBMC for MINIX isn't Kodi 18.x.

No idea but...I use the attached keymap, pressing the back button takes you back to fullscreen.
Copy it to .kodi/userdata/keymaps
If you already have the file there then just add the line of code to yours.

Yes

But may depend on your kodi skin
for example you can with the Aura skin

I have now installed Aura skin and found the OSD settings.
I now don't seem to to get resume from or play from beginning option.

Try the menu button when your media of choice is highlighted. (Button immediately above the home button on the A2 Lite/A3.)
