OTG - No TG ;-)

Hi there, :) I've just got an old X8 box from a friend. I was hoping to set up to use UK streaming services ITV player and All4 as my telly doesn't have these. I've tried following the guidelines to update the Android OS via USB but I'm struggling as the OTG to USB cable I have must be dodgy. I'm getting windows errors saying the USB current that the X8 is needing is too high (tried 2 pcs).
So can you guys tell me if there is a way to update the box via SD card or USB stick or do you have a link for a cable that will work. Or any other bright ideas are always welcome.
Thanks!

I've got a NEO x8 Plus and Win 10 Pcs.

First up, you really need to confim what unit you actually have, you mention x8, then say NEO x8 Plus but you have posted under the NEO X8-H Plus section of the forum, this is important so please look at the sticker under the box and let us know which one it is.

These apps no longer run on Android 4.

You will need to have Android 5.

If your device is an X8-H Plus then this is not a problem as there is an Official firmware.
If it is an X8 or X8 Plus then you will have to chance a custom firmware, or rather, a firmware for a different branded device that has the same SoC.

Thanks for the replies folks. The device is a neo x8-H plus. Sorry for confusion. So hopefully it's upgradable. Can you tell me if this can be achieved via USB stick or SD card? Or if I need a cable, does anyone know how to source them. Thanks again.
