Poor samba performance

I have a 4k remux that's over 55 gigs that I can stream from Google drive no issue... The exact same file on a samba local share will buffer and studer while playing locally... Is there a fix to samba performance? I haven't tried the 7.1.2 beta build still on stock 6.0.1 (latest version).

Do you use a Nas ?
If yes, try NFS instead of Samba.

Hi Skynet, I have exaclty the same error. Can't copy big files (biggers than 50mb)... always fail. I wish copy throught Samba.... is there any fix to Samba trouble?

Which windows version do you use?
If you use win 10 try to reactivate smb v1.

You need to give more details!

Where from/to are you copying?
Samba - U9-H server? NAS? PC?

Freenas server I built... Samba share over 5ghz wifi ac... I get 300mbit on Speedtest and only 55mbit with samba share... Streaming from gdrive over internet I hit over 130mbit and no buffer...

So why do you not use NFS instead ? It's faster than Samba and more reliable.
Freenas can use NFS, i already installed one.

I'll try it out today... Just weird that it's ok on my shield and not either my u1 or u9-h.

I use SMB over ethernet and dont experience any buffer / stutter but there again i dont have any files 55Gigs in size, presumably with high bitrate !!

Can you extract and post a smaller file sample that still buffers for you and I can try out.

Sorry... I am copying form u9-h (las stalbe firmware) to Windows 10 1803 x64.
I had reactivate smb v1 and now it works better... 1,5mbps, stable. But still is not enough.
The network is fine (100mbps wired), the speed is right against other hosts....
Pendrive 128GB formatted as NTFS and exFAT32 tried too.

This is a known bug? are working on it? will be solved on next firmware release?

How can I share files between u9-h and Windows 10 directly, without SAMBA?
There is another way built in?

Use ES explorer built-in FTP feature instead, it's really faster.
