Potential Android TV 13 soon? (LineageOS 20)

Hey guys,

I just stumbled upon this thread on XDA: https://xdaforums.com/t/official-un...ic-gxl-gxm-g12-sm1-ne-family-devices.4534935/

There are LineageOS 20 ROMS for other S912 boxes. There is no ROM for the Minix Neo U9-H (yet), so if anyone here has any knowledge/skills to provide to the people of that project, that could really help. What do you guys think? Will we see support for the U9-H at some point?

Also, if we do, it's essentially guaranteed to at least have frame rate switching right? Since that is natively supported since Android TV 12.

I asked the developer whether there was planned support for the Minix Neo U9-H. He said there wasn't, but it should be possible to port it. If anyone is willing to try it, there are some instructions. The dev said:

"you can likely port it. Take the beast tree and rebrand"

I couldn't find a beast tree linked in the post, but I did find it on Github (at least I guess this is what he was referring to):

In another comment, he said the following:

"Basically what I was trying to say in the title, and as I say later in that post is that these trees will support all of those SOCs, but that developers will largely need to port the device themselves.

Really you will need to fork the device most similar to yours (if it's s905x2 use wade), replace the variables in lineage_$target.mk to match your device, add the DTS files for your specific devices to the kernel directory, and build the correct module for your wifi/BT chip.

It's pretty straight forward. Only additional porting piece may be sepolicy changes for your hardware."

So in this case you would apply these steps using the beast tree

So, if anyone is up for this task, it should be doable. I personally don't really have experience with this, but I think there are others on this forum that could maybe get this working. Maybe @antonio6o6 ?

Edit: I also found this page: https://wiki.oddsolutions.us/devices/beast/
