Replacement dongle for Minix Neo A2

I own a Minix Neo A2 and have misplaced the USB dongle.

Do I need to buy a USB wireless dongle specific to the Minix remote or would any unbranded unit work?

Thanks

An update for the ones with the same problem: according to the support center, the replacement of the USB receiver is unfortunately not possible, because of the factory pairing of the remote and the dongle.

This seems incredible that you would have to throw away a perfectly good and possibly near new remote because the dongle has been lost or inadvertently destroyed. If this is true, I believe that at the point of sale at least two dongles should be supplied and a prominent warning given that these dongles should be carefully looked after as they are irreplaceable. It is certainly a strong deterrent from buying a Minix product and I will be looking at some other brand when I buy another remote.

Did you contact @MINIX - John as instructed?

The other brands of remotes are just the same. One remote , one dongle!
If you're worried about losing the dongle then get a Bluetooth remote.

I am still to see the demand of the guy that lost the remote but kept the dongle...

That's what makes sense! If the dongle is attached to the box, and the box is wired to its place, how can someone lose it instead of the remote, beats me?
I have a Logitech K400 Plus keyboard.
I thought I'd misplaced the Unifying dongle. Not too concerned as I have a trackball with a Unifying dongle so can easily pair with that.
Anyway, I have been searching high 'n low for this dongle for weeks!
I removed the battery cover several times on various occassions knowing that is where it is kept, in the battery compartment, when not in use.
Every time it's not there, until I realised it's kept in the battery cover not in the compartment!!!:ROFLMAO:

My son had been using it for months.
How many times did he get a telling off for losing it, even though he kept saying it was in the battery compartment!
Hang my head in shame! :censored:

What if you lose the 2nd one? I think that clearly, Minix should provide 3 dongles. Wait, what if you lose the third one? ...
Also I agree about the warning: each remote should come with a 8x3 feet "these dongles should be carefully looked after" banner to hang over your TV set; that should stop careless people from losing their stuff. And I know what I'm talking about: I have two A2 remotes and lost one of the dongles... that's why I have 2 remotes!
