MINIX's A2 Lite is another good option. It is probably close to the price of the A3 however. Can anyone tell me what RF remotes are available for the Neo U22-XJ?
I can't afford to spend another $30 for the Minix A3 remote
They will work with basic functionality however, as stated above by @midnight not all buttons are guaranteed to function or be mapped properly and likewise they will not have all the buttons that the Minix remotes have to make your user experience that much better. This is entirely your decision at the end of the day, goedkoop is duurkoop!!What about these two remotes? Similar in features but half the price

The only button that does not work on my A3 is the "apps" button. I reported this to support@minix last week. Still waiting for a reply.MINIX's A2 Lite is another good option. It is probably close to the price of the A3 however.
Using a MINIX remote with a MINIX device is money well spent, they work very well and all the buttons work as they should..... which you can't guarantee with other brands.
NP - You could install sideload launcher from the play store and use button mapper to map the button key press to sideload launcher. Button mapper could also map the app drawer button to Nova's app drawer activity (if there is one).Nova launcher. Thanks for explaining that. Much appreciated.
