Hi, very new to forum and a little confused about whether I should upgrade firmware, and are there any clear benefits/drawbacks in doing so ? I have currently a pretty stable Android 6.01 FW0008 20180209 build, and I pretty much use the box only for Players (iplayer mainly); Netflix and a cheap all channels TV app (which is subject to infrequent but annoying freezes).
My main question is as above - is there any reason to upgrade firmware (I am thinking my next upgrade will be to replace this one with a NEO U22-XJ box, which I believe is a significant upgrade ?).
Secondary questions are how difficult is it, are there risks, and would I have to reinstall the apps I use ?
My apologies if anything vague, but I see on the MINIX site there is no upgrade to this build, and only in this forum do I see there is a "home produced" upgrade to Android 7.12 and an appropriate build.
If I have anything wrong, I am keen to learn !
