I dont have a "fit to size" option, I'm using the latest 15.something slimbox version. The wallpaper is doing the same thing as the stock firmware. The wallpaper is not scaled to my screen. So annoying, anyone know a fix for this? Might just try the versions posted by op.

Hi. If the latest slimbox version don't work well for you, you can try previous versions or wait for an upgrade.

Strange I installed version 15.2 and pre-installed there is the application Nova Lancer. to me everything works correctly, but only on full hd tv.
 
Hi guys.
I decided to flash the latest Slimbox OS V15.2.
Here are some comments with this custom firmware.

ROM tested: ATV version
Device tested: U22-XJ-MAX (should work also with U22-XJ)
Monitor tested: LG 22MK600M-B
TV tested 43RU7103

System:
I flashed with Amlogic_USB_Burning_Tool_v2.2.0 without problems (flashed ok first time i tried).
Usb burning tool :
I used erase flash and erase bootloader.
-IR, A3,M2 remote controls are working ok
-reboot, sleep and power off works well
-power menu - power off, sleep, restart
-One press and long press with power button are working well.
-the device wakes well from sleep/shutdown
-System bar - ok
-System sound ok
APPS:
-kodi 19.4 installed ok (latest stable build)
This device is working well with my video libray (from SD to 4K HDR)
-x-plore file manager ok
-google store ok
-smart tube next pre installed app ok
-youtube ATV version 2.16.032 ok (installed from playstore)
(Working on customized channel)
LAN:
Ethernet: is working well
WIFI connection is also working well.
Copy/delete files with x-plore file manager is working well.

Peripheral interface:
-Kingston 64GB micro SD CARD is working fine

Comments:
-The ability to turn off ethernet (without the need of removing the rj45 cable
(this is nice, i like it) this is also working well with this latest version
-I would like to see in future firmware updates the option
-It's a shame we don't receive official updates
-This slimbox firmware has many options/preferences for the user (many i don´t need but it might be usefull for other users)
-overall this rom is good and seems pretty stable to me.
there are options in the GUI that the user can select and even if the user doesn't want those options appear.

Bugs that i found:
-IR remote control settings key still does not work
-A2 lite backlit :
Settings key, all apps key does not work

I need more time to test the stability of this ROM, just flashed this morning but so far is working well :).

Edited: V15.2 also works for U22-XJ, tested with a dedicated Slimbox file

Two questions on the firmware

1) How does it function with regards to defaulting to HDR/DV mode. In earlier versions I had great difficulty in getting the GUI not to be stuck in either HDR/DV mode and hence much to "bright"

2) Does HD audio work, unlike Minix firmware


and are you planning on testing the PIE version

1-i have dolby vision disable.
Switching between HDR/SDR is working well:
default is SDR
2-sound, i only have tv speakers : so i only enabled system sounds , all the rest is with default settings.
Note:
I don't understand much about audio, but it is working well ?

For now my experience is great.

I think you will get the same experience with the standard version, but of course the ATV has different user interface (and at the moment i prefer ?)
I am also getting the same experience with:
U22-XJ and U22-XJ-MAX (BOTH ATV VERSIONS).

This ^^ Having air mouse ability is the number one issue in my opinion. Speaking of that, does anyone have a list of old browser versions that still use air mouse scrolling? I remember seeing a list somewhere of versions that support this but cannot find it. Thanks.

Hi can you report that Dolby vision is broken.

I downloaded and installed 15.4.1 . It didn't work for me. (issues with remote)
On Slimbox site for U22X-J they have a version 9.6 new as of April 19 2023.
Can I install this on my box? And how did it go from 15.4 to 9.6?
Any help much appreciated.

You should be installing V9.6

I think the developer decided to switch version numbers to reflect the Android version being Android 9.

I did a little more looking and I think the 15.4 is a XDA version by Yandex.ru of slimbox.ru 9.6.
I think that's right, but probably not. Thanks for your help, Much appreciated.

I think you will find it is what I said! ;)

He also changed V16 to V11 to reflect the Android 11 version.
 
Hello again.
Could someone tell me if I can flash my Minix U22 with the new slimbox 9.9 over top of 9.8.5 with the burning tool or do I have to flash back to the original firmware and go from there?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
