Slow Internet

i just bought a new minix n42c-4 plus and i cannot even download google chrome on it because of how slow the internet speed is. i've taken a photo of the speed of the minix as compared to the speed of my macbook. what can i do to make it faster? is this a hardware issue or just some settings? i have an old minix that died on me a few days ago so i bought a new minix. the location and usage of the old and new devices are the same but the performance is very, very different. can anyone help me? thanks!

most likely be your settings somewhere as the N42C is perfectly capable of those speeds on either wifi or ethernet

@alemberg
pay attention also to processes that are running in the background (disable for example the antivirus, etc ...) and when you do the speed test do not use anything else (example peer to peer) and if possible by cable (to remove the maximum benefit from your contracted internet)

Note:
Another thing you should do is double check your router settings and connect minix directly to the ISP router and no other equipment in between (example switch, another router).

One of the websites i use is this:

the thing is, the placement of the new minix and the apps that's installed (except those pre-installed already) are exactly the same at the old minix. even the number of computers/phones using the wifi is the same as the old one but the one worked much, much better.

but when i connected the minix using ethernet, the speed improved. does this mean it's the wifi that's faulty?

Check your installed drivers and if everything is ok (go to device manager) :

Here are the minix drivers:

Reboot both devices minix and router.

hello everyone! tried almost everything and got a friend who's an expert with PCs help me with my device but to no avail. i wrote to minix hk and they eventually told me that there may be a hardware problem. i returned the device, they tested it and now i got a replacement device which is working perfectly. thank you so much for all your suggestions and help. they all led me to detailing everything i reported back to minix.
