Subtitle shortcut

Using the Media player on the Neo U9-H:
In order to turn off subtitles I am having to pull up the controls then click multiple times to get to the T icon then click to turn off subtitles then click OK then navigate through multiple clicks to the play icon then click to restart the movie. More often than not this hasn't worked and the subtitles are still there. I can repeat this many times and still the subtitle is on. The Zidoo android box I have has a dedicated subtitle button which works. Is there a working shortcut to turn off subtitles on the Neo U9-H that I am missing? Thanks

The U9-H is a very powerful box that can be used to many different purposes and therefore having a button to turn off subtitles there would be the same as having such a button in a computer or a smart phone.

Besides, there are several forms of getting subtitles which would not be compatible with any button to turn them off. I recall that nowadays you can have subtitles in many YouTube videos and I can bet a physical button to toggle them on and off wouldn't do. You can also have subtitles embedded within a movie file (and I don't mean the hardprinted that can't be removed) or subtitles coming together in a joint text-like file (whit an extension .srt or something similar).

I believe your struggle has more to do with the players you are using than with the technical shortcuts to provide the deal. Players have a function you select to produce or hide the subtitles, the good ones do. Please try it with MX Player or, should you wish to get into a more advanced media experience, Kodi. Both are preisntalled and have a setting to turn off subs.

You're using the relatively basic "Movie Player" app!!! Whilst it works quite well, as @CybeRider has already pointed out you would be much better off with Kodi or MX Player. VLC is another decent option as well if you want to grab it from the Play Store.

The Movie Player app is convenient to play the odd file here or there but ultimately, consider switching media players if you're using your U9-H as a dedicated media hub. Kodi, for example, may take a bit of time initially to configure etc., but once that's been done you'll be hard pushed to find anything better :). Of course, if you need any assistance in this regard just ask, plenty of Kodi users happy to help :).
