Tutorial CoreELEC on the U9

This hasn't been updated for awhile. there is no longer the download helper for the u9h. i have downloaded legacy 9.2.8 corelec but i cannot find the correct dts in the folder. i tried copy pasting the dts file but when i create the usb and long press the power button all it does is hang. this was a Christmas present for my parents if anyone can give me a hand as tutorials are more geared to the newer models. i would greatly appreciate it.

it would be nice if there was a dedicated download link for corelec and the dts file on this site. 10$ in xmr for whoever does that for corelec on the uh9 because its a great system just being phased out it seems
 
I did use the generic version burned with rufus. It doesn't need to be on a micro SD card correct? I used a USB. I can't imagine that would matter. Could it?

It can make a difference, when I first tried it failed to boot with two USB thumb drives while the third one did boot so if you have another USB thumb drive then try that or better still get an SD Card (y)
