On my 12 year "old" Panasonic HD TC-P55UT50, the U22 works fine booting in stock OS/FW. BUT I have no video signal in recovery mode. I actually have to connect it to my computer screen for any "low level" functions like recovery or TWRP.

There are known issues with HDMI on the U22... and apparently Minix is working on it.
seems that way.. I don't think I'll change my sets for something that works with the minix though..

Still no HDMI handshake between my TV and the U22 with FW006 when booting in recovery or from a USB device. If it means anything, the color and resolution is all f*cked up but workable on my computer display when I need recovery mode and or TWRP. As said previously, all good when booting straight to the stock OS FW006.
I find that if I have a different HMDI cable my U22 does not connect to my tv, sometimes I have a couple of different boxes hooked up to my tv when I am working on them and get the cables mixed up when disconnect them and don't put the original U22 cable back with the U22 box. Don't know if it is the HDMI port on my tv or the cable itself.
