I have the latest Kodi Matrix 19.1 installed on my U22, has worked perfectly for a year. But in the last week it has stopped recognizing a 4Tb External SeaGate HDD, with all of my TV Shows on it. I have culled a lot of shows as it was close to full, removed all shows and formatted it then reinstalled the shows, done a full factory reset on the U22, but nothing has worked !! Even just using the included player, doesn't show the HDD there!
Any suggestions ??
Thanks in advance.

Do the apps you are trying have the proper permission to view all files and media?

Have you checked if a file explorer can view the files?

Have you tried a different USB port on the box?

Is your USB drive externally powered, or powered by USB?

What format is the HDD formatted to?

File Explorer cannot see the HDD. Yes tried all three USB ports. Powered by 5v USB. HDD format is NTSB.

Have you tried with another usb device (USB pendrive, ...) to check if Minix USB ports are working or not ?

Some Tests you can do:
1-connect to a windows device and then copy/delete files to the External SeaGate HDD
and see if the hd was recognized on the pc in order to test the HDD properly
2-you also must know if the external box enclosure is working well
3-if the external box enclosure is not working well you can test the HDD with another enclosure (or with an adapter, connecting the hdd to a PC, if you can remove the hdd from the box ) or with another PSU

Note:
Recommended Format file system for the HDD - NTFS

Thanks guys, It wasn't the Minix that was at fault! The Seasgate HDD is the problem !! has stopped being recognized by my PC too, luckily transferred all files of it, so might be a "Bin it"

Try error checking etc. first before writing it off.

Otherwise, don't just bin it!!! Shuck the actual drive from the Seagate enclosure & try it in another 3rd party enclosure instead as the drive itself may still be perfectly fine.

(Google shucking Seagate [your-model] for a video guide.)
