002FW OTA Update is now available, please report any issues.

You can see that when you check update inside the OTA app.

1. Added Processor Power Mode options

2. Added Refresh Rate Switching options

3. Added double frame rate feature while playing 25fps and 29.97fps video

4. Added seamless playback of 23.976fps video at 60Hz output

5. Added FEL compatibility mode to playback with HDR10

13. Fixed a remote navigation problem of native Android settings

14. Optimized mouse right-click behavior in Settings pages

15. Reduce the number of folders created when plugging in a USB drive or TF card

16. Fixed NTFS write permission issue

17. Fixed a bug that TV got no signal when U8K wakes up

18. Fixed a AV1 decoder (YouTube) causing reboot bug

19. Fixed a .mpeg file playback bug

20. Fixed a .3gp file playback bug

Hi guys.
Some comments about this new Firmware

I had acess to this FOTA version (this morning)
Download was slow but it works.
It would be nice to have acess to the full ROM.

When the download process was over, appeared one install button (to upgrade) on the screen but the installation process started upgrading by itself (automatically , i never clicked the install button), for me that is not a good idea, i think the user must have the possibility to upgrade or not.

After installation was completed another button appeared (restart immedialely) and this needs human intervention (i like).

Upgrade process was sucessufully and i was able to keep all my installed apps and my settings.

what i noticed so far:
-Metro launcher shortcuts do not load immediately when OS starts (same as previous fw), maybe in the next fw would be fixed (shortcuts added by the "+" )

I will test this firmware more.

We’ve already fixed it with a newer version of the launcher app, I may upload that apk tomorrow

Update went smoothly.

The new CEC options are welcome and work well except that there is still no audio control in the Android TV version of the Youtube app. No idea if there is the ability to work around this since it is the same on a Ugoos SK1. No big deal though since CEC control works well via the TV remote and that allows volume control.

All around solid update.

Related to smartube:

I found that if my ISP router is running (without restarting) for a period of time (uptime - maybe more than two weeks...) the app stops working correctly (i am unable to watch any video)

What i did:
I was forced to restart my ISP router and smartube is working as it should.

Note:
The same thing happens with U22-XJ

I don't know what is the version that i am using.
I need to check (i think i already switch to the beta version but i need to confirm)

Maybe the problem is also related to my ISP (or ISP router..) , i don't know.

ISP that i am using:
NOS Portugal
 
Thank you for this new minix metro.
I like it but i wanted to have the old minix apk.
I will compare both and test but the minix shortcuts (fast to load) are working fine in the new one.
I don´t remember how (and where we find the minix metro apk)

Sorry I think I’ve uploaded the wrong apk, this is the next launcher that we are still developing (only 60% done). I’ll send the original launcher in U8K with the loading fix to you next Monday. And I’m taking this file off for now.

Please tell us the folder (i don't remember...) where we can find the minix metro apk.
It is usefull to have.
I did not take notes about that.
And if we can acess that folder and save (this version of android is more limited...).
Or if you can share with us the old minix metro apk (fixed)

Well, finally updated to the FW002.
As a result, everything seems faster.
Of course, I've tried all my file formats (4K, HDR, HLG, DV) and everything works fine except DV.
When I force DV in the settings and launch a DV clip, my TV doesn't switch to DV (no DV logo displayed).
I'm forced to force the minix to HDR and then everything goes brilliantly.
Well, that's fine for now, but I'd like to know where it's coming from.
My TV, an LG 65G3, is perfectly DV-compatible, and on a Shield, DV plays just fine with the same test clips.
Is it a question of settings?

Otherwise, everything else works fine.
Plex runs fine, and so does Kodi.
Smarttube is perfect.

Just 2 bugs:
- when I launch smarttube and want to search by hand, the virtual keyboard doesn't appear. I have to use the remote control keyboard.
- There are 2 applications to update in Gplay and I get an error for each of them.

After upgrading the firmware to version 002, I received a warning in the notification area stating, "Android TV Remote Service," and I am unable to control the box volume at all. The volume bar, which previously appeared on the left side of the screen, now appears at the bottom. While the volume bar moves when I attempt to increase or decrease the volume, the actual volume level does not change.

does this mean true tv-led full FEL processing as it should be (meaning: using second video track) ?

or is it just processing only RPU data of DV-7 ( and so ignoring second video track) ?
