I've encountered two issues. The pre-installed Disney+ plus app immediately requires an upgrade when first started. As there is no upgrade pathway that works correctly for the U8K-Ultra, the app is not usable. I did use the APKPure upgrade path but the app still does not disply correctly on a TV screen. The other issue is that latest version of the Hulu app does not recognize the presence of the location services although they are running and, therefore, does not run. Not sure if this is an app issue or a firmware issue as I recognize that Hulu is not a registered app for the U8K-Ultra. However, it is possible to side load the app (I use the APKMirror apk's) and it worked fine with FW004 and previous firmware versions. I will try a couple of the earlier versions and see if they work, and keep working after upgrading to the most recent version. I'll report back here when I know more.
Update: Don't ask me to explain how or why but Hulu now loads. Nothing changed but it now works fine

3 system crash in kodi ( the box crash and restart) , i connect wd blue SATA ssd 2tb USB 3 ,when i go inside the ssd -music folder with kodi for ad the source in kodi ...the box crash and restart. Maybe kodi problem or not i dont know (kodi from playstore)
Question : hardware monitor RAM , i power on the box ,its written ~6,5/8 ,is 6,5 the free RAM or is this the ram used ??

My advice : download the very last Kodi Apk from their website and sideload it using a file manager. Keep only the last version, clear cache and app data and try again.

What kodi version are you using?
Kodi 21.3 is the recommended and the stable one.
I already tested the v22 version (but only for testing).
Download the apk from the playstore or from kodi.tv (32 bit version)
I have kodi 21.3 sideloaded and have had one or two random exits to the main launcher screen.
Also, as previous firmware, after playing a HDR/DV file it sometimes get stuck in the HDR/DV mode
Also disable the pre-installed version (green icon) - less confusion over which to click and less use of resources.

Something to do with Blue Ray disc menus or similar if i recall correctly ?
Not something that interests me , plus the Kodi version was a version or two down on current version and unsure how minix were going to keep it current so I have disabled it.
I'd like to uninstall it completely, along with quite a few other apps that have been preinstalled ...
For me, its a two-fold issue. As @pubs87 pointed out, its an older beta version of Kodi, and it does not register with PlayStore for updates (my preferred update pathway as the two alternative upgrade sites are riddled with useless adds and clickbait updates
). It also quite frequently spontaneously closes when loaded for no apparent reason. I guess you can call that "special" if you're so inclined 
. The PlayStore version (or that from Kodi direct) is always the latest version, updates are available as they are released, and I believe a much safer bet.As always, this has been my experience but your mileage may vary.

I've disabled all the apps I don't want including SmartTube Stable as I use the Beta!
I wish we could uninstall them too or even not have them to begin with.
APKPure, to me, has always looked dodgy. I certainly won't be using that!
What a I did notice is that Disney+ app has Uninstall rather than Disable.
I uninstalled it but it returns after reboot!

You can!I have not found a way on how to set a password when U8K-Ultra is booting to OS. Is that possible at all like when you enter Windows 11 for example? That would had been a nice feature I need. Thanks in advance
But don't do it as the device just goes in to a boot loop!!!
I've just tried it and now have to reset the device.
....I've had to start afresh, so before starting again I just wanted to make certain the preinstalled version was not necessarily the better option.

Good ROM. (1) Amazon prime has some movies in DV (like Merv) which doesnt display as DV when opened from Minix U8K. As I set the box to "Always HDR" I dont mind this. (2) AI PQ doesnt seem to be doing a good job when set at medium or high. AISR is OK. (3) I've not measured wired network perf but suspect it's low (given how slow OTA update is). Maybe a server issue ? I'm on 2 Gbps fiber.

first of all thank You for fixing samba, now it is OK for copying big files to the internal storage of U8K, but in case of SD cards, it does not work. In case of u22xj everything works fine. Can You fix this fault?
I have another problem, too.
My u22xj is recognized by the google play store as a tablet and my favourite tv app woks fine on it, but U8k is recognized as a mobile device and there is no app for it. With the help of another store, I struggled to get xapk to run, it starts, and then the app stops. Is it possible to solve this problem?

thank You for helping me! I installed the aptoid apk and logged in successfully, it started, but some part of the program does not work, e.g., EPG which is a crucial for the whole program. Do you have any idea about the difference between u22xj and U8K-plus at this issue?
