U9-H-CE FW001 Android 7.1.2 20191120 [Community Edition Nougat Firmware]

I was a little too quick to be glad that the sound was working, after a while, 5-10 minutes so it quieted without me doing anything.
(I did only view all settings without changing anything).

I only use HDMI connected directly to TV, have tested the same cable and port on TV with several Minix without any sound problems.

Again, I flashed an older version, and the sound works without problems.

Flashed u9-h-ce-fw001-android-7-1-2-20191120 again, the sound works for a while and then disappears.

Started playing an HD movie in Kodi 18.5, after 5 minutes the sound came suddenly, and worked until I restarted Minix, no sound after reboot.

Since I get audio with previous firmware, I suspect something is not right in this version, or that it is compatibility problem with my TV (LG Oled55c7v).

I have tested a number of HDMI cables, without success, also tested all HDMI ports on the TV.

I did a test with opto-cable and BT connected to other devices, and both works fine.

Now while writing this post the sound came back after 15 minutes playing movie in Kodi! :rolleyes:...

What do you think about this?

I don't have any problems in sound.
If You can since you tested many things (hdmi cable, hdmi ports, ...) test this latest ROM in other TV.
Check also for firmware upgrade on LG55 TV.
Check also your minix audio system settings, should be something like default output device.

I never change nothing in minix system sound, i always keep default settings

I connected to a smaller TV with same cable and it was no problem, sound works fine there.

My LG TV is updated with latest fw.
But of course there is no guarantee that it will work.
The question is just how do I get LG to look at the problem.
If it's worth it ...
I am otherwise very happy with my U9-H ...

A little strange, as the hardware works with all other fw I have tested, so it may be driver problems in nougat, or simply my TV that needs software that is compatible.


I think I will try some nougat beta fw if available, just for checking...

Same here, until now when it didn't work.
Same again now, started a movie 15 minutes ago, and sound came now.. without any help from me... very strange.

Ok.
You have two choices then for sound ok:
-use beta previous minix ROM
-download firmware for your TV and try use even an older one (with better compatibility with minix) - you must check if your tv allow that.

But if it works ok for you (sound) choose downgrade - minix beta firmware.
Beta firmware for me was working well.

But in the time i tested stable latest ROM is better.

Wait .
Are you saying with other TV the problem remains? Sound failed ?

If you have problems in sound the best solution right now is downgrade to beta firmware.

No, It worked fine with older smaller TV, I meant that I never (like you) had to change the sound settings, have always worked by default.
(sorry for my inferior explanations)

I also never change sound settings but normaly i go check what options we have available.

I said that because you have sound issues and i know sound must work well with default settings, there is no need to change when we have only tv and minix connected by hdmi.

I know that I can seem insistent and pale ... but I would really like to try this new stable Rom ... but I would like you who already use it ... you could tell me if the settings have remained like the android firmware 6.0 ... type fake wifi ... I insist with this because many apps in my country ... Italy ... need wifi .... but knowing that ethernet is more stable I usually use that .. I would just not having to regret ..... could you tell me if this new Roma is better than Marshallow ..? . thanks for your patience ... and a super special thanks to those who made this new Roma ... for us lovers of Minix

Hi and good morning to you here from Portugal :)
I think the best for you is really trying yourself.
Don´t get me wrong, i know you have difficulties in tecnology.

This latest ROM is stable, in the few time i had testing youtube and kodi are working well, minix metro fixed, etc.

for example:
-one app is working for a user but might not be working for you (as you like).
-another example, default hdmi sound is working very good for me and other users but there was at least one user (@Datore) in this thread that have sound issues.

It is like a test drive, you never know if you really like it until you tested yourself.

If you install this ROM and don´t like is just downgrade again.
And next time you need to install a new ROM you already know how to do it and you have the advantage of learning the flashing process :)

The flashing procedure is secure but read instructions step by step if you are going to try.
 
FYI,
I have now flashed and tested these FW:
U9-H-Android7.1-FW001
U9H-CE-1905-B1-1557411873

Same problem with the sound via HDMI as with U9H-CE-191120-FW001-1574239461, but no problem via OPTO or BT.

Then I flashed U9-H-FW008-Android_6.0-20180209 and no problem at all with the sound via HDMI.

So something in 7.* (Nougat) doesn't work with my LG OLED55C7V via any of its HDMI-port.

Anyway, except this problem I really like U9H-CE-191120-FW001

I will check later better because i had few time to test but i remember more or less what i have to do in order to appear that option.

Yesterday i noticed one thing:
Watched some youtube videos (desktop version), and one of them in full screen the image was with green colour and totally distorced.

Kodi 18.5 worked great, streaming for NAS (1h30 +-).

I have to test more this ROM.

Yes. It is a better ROM, and i know what you are saying.
Sometimes in code we go line by line, word by word , etc... and we take precious time to discover why is not working.
