U9-H-CE FW001 Android 7.1.2 20191120 [Community Edition Nougat Firmware]

Just to clarify, there will be some updates for this CE FW in the future even if it's hard to tell when. Actually we have slowed down the development because we are working on other projects.

As already said it's not possible to update via MINIX OTA. We are trying to reverse engineer the amlogic OTA protocol to allow the use of the 'Update & Backup' app. With this app it's already possible to update our ROM with update.zip files but not yet via OTA. The real problem is the available time...

unfortunately we are not all good with electronics ... so for those who are like me ... it is already a company to install the new .... I'm curious .... I just want to be sure that it is stable in equal measure to marshallow .. ..be patience for members like me ... who are humble people who know how to do something else .... thanks friends .....
Yes, I appreciate that but its not really electronics, to update its a software procedure with just connecting your minix to a PC/Laptop with the USB cable.

At the end of the day the only way you will find out if it satisfies you is to install it, and if you dont like it simply flash back the version of firmware you prefer.
Once you've flashed a different firmware you will look back and wonder why you ever found it so daunting.

Hi! Thank you all for this update.
However, I can't get any sound (system sound or when use Kodi) in any way via the HDMI as I always have used on any Minix and software.
Can it be because I dont know how to clean the cache?
How do I clean the cache after upgrading?

System sound and kodi , youtube is working for me perfectly. You must check your tv settings, minix settings, cable...
I don't use any AVR, just tv connected to minix (hdmi)

I do only use HDMI, and I had sound before I burned this new fw. Nothing changed on my TV, I connected for test an older Minix X8-h with same HDMI and sound worked.

Found how to clear cache, didn't help.
No sound in Youtube or any other app.

Will try to burn again, should I use "Erase all" option in USB burning tool?
And maybe enable "Reset after success"?

Did you follow this?
- Please do a clean install and clean the cache to avoid problems with the previous beta or FW.
- Please wait some minutes after having flashed the ROM to allow the install of preinstalled apps!
- Don't forget to clean the cache after having updated!

Also.... if you have a dongle in for a remote/mouse try removing it and try again

Please read again this (instructions ) and use normal erase: (see pdf)

View pdf file (see the picture) and how you use usb burning tool.
Leave it (usb burning tool) with default settings.

Edit:
I forgot to say that you could try first a factory reset.
I don't know if you reflashed already the device.

FYI, I burn again using the guide, but no success with the sound, still nothing.

Then I burned again with these options enabled:
Erase flash
Erase all
Erase bootloader

And now the sound works as usual without any special settings!
:)
Thank you!

Ok. I always use default usb burning tool settings with normal erase, i never change that.
I edited my message earlier and a factory reset should be one of the first options.
Enjoy ☺

Hi again.

I was a little too quick to be glad that the sound was working, after a while, 5-10 minutes so it quieted without me doing anything.
(I did only view all settings without changing anything).

I only use HDMI connected directly to TV, have tested the same cable and port on TV with several Minix without any sound problems.

Again, I flashed an older version, and the sound works without problems.

Flashed u9-h-ce-fw001-android-7-1-2-20191120 again, the sound works for a while and then disappears.

Started playing an HD movie in Kodi 18.5, after 5 minutes the sound came suddenly, and worked until I restarted Minix, no sound after reboot.

Since I get audio with previous firmware, I suspect something is not right in this version, or that it is compatibility problem with my TV (LG Oled55c7v).

I have tested a number of HDMI cables, without success, also tested all HDMI ports on the TV.

I did a test with opto-cable and BT connected to other devices, and both works fine.

Now while writing this post the sound came back after 15 minutes playing movie in Kodi!...

What do you think about this?
