U9-H-CE FW001 Android 7.1.2 20191120 [Community Edition Nougat Firmware]

Thanks (volunteer) Dev Team It really was easy to download and install, just installing all my favourite apps so hopefully I can give an update as to how they are with this ROM.
Cheers and Merry Christmas

Just installed this no problems so far.
Thanks to Minixforum Dev Team for this rom.
Bluetooth headphones working OK.
Update: Settings keeps crashing when going into "display" - reported by other user earlier - not a showstopper.
Also can't find how to have notification banner at the top of the screen permanently on.
May revert back to latest Marshmallow for now

Update:
After reading all the posts on this thread, I decided to try a factory reset, which has been recommended to fix other issues. Settings no longer crashes when going into "display" settings. Now that I can get into "display settings", I can set the notifications banner at the top of the screen permanently on. This fixes the two issues I highlighted in my previous post.
Well happy with this - didn't really want to go back to marshmallow.

Thanks for the work on this CE team. I've installed and seems to be working well. I like the new Metro look!

Just one thing to report, the Settings app still crashes when I try to access the Display sub menu. I can change display settings using the Droid Settings app, so not a big deal. It just feels a bit unpolished to have app crashes.
A factory reset fixed the "Settings app still crashes when I try to access the Display sub menu" issue for me.

Has anyone used a bluetooth device with this new firmware? I might need to upgrade to Nougat due to BT issues with Marshmallow.
I am using Bluedio bluetooth headphones on the new firmware and they are working as normal.
NB They also worked fine on marshmallow.

Has any one experienced the following error message " g board has stopped working please close" and from there it keeps requesting every minute or so to do the same despite continually closing the message

Had that non stop on my Samsung tablet last night. There was then a Gboard update, restarting after the update solved everything.

We can't link you directly to other forums but if you simply search for "G Board bug" the top results will show you the Google forum.

Fairly self explanatory from there on ;). It is a known issue & an update should already be out or it will soon be available.

Update: This has now started to happen again after it appeared to be fixed following the factory reset. When going to Settings>>More Settings>>Display the settings app crashes.

Hey all, I cant seem to get this working for some reason running into this error

[HUB1-3][Err]--[0x00301001]Erase bootloader/Switch status/Enum device/Enum error

Plugged directly into my computer MB no usb HUB.

Any help would be appreciated

What about Netfix and Amazon Prime video apps? Does the work? Can they be downloaded from play store? Which video resolution? 720p 1080p 4k?

hi, first post here. is there any reason that i get a protocol error when i click the download or for the usb burning too. im new here. ive owned the u9h for about 2 years but got frustrated when the website was down for a long period and put it up on the shelf til now

There is a consensus developing along the lines that the U9-H FW008 is probably the most stable and user friendly available on the U9-H and a move into CE FW001 would only benefit those users that need to run a configuration that is not possible on the FW008 version. There are a lot of posts regarding the experience being found and it might serve you well to look through the posts and threads regarding the pro's and con's ... Whilst I applaud the team for their endeavors in bringing this new FW001 to the community it is fair to say it doesn't suit everyone's needs and I have tested it on a few U9-H and I would rather wait until some of the minor issues can be overcome .. so really its a trade off with an older android system that works for most against a newer version that still has some issues in certain configurations .. BUT ... It may be just what you require, but from what you stated having it on the shelf for two years it may just need resetting or updating the to FW008 should you not have it, then if needs be and its lacking with regard your usage indeed try the CE FW001 ..

You should have one of these supplied with the device.
You need to use this type not the one in your image!
