U9-H not suitable for continous operation? (Crashes for sure within a few weeks...)

Hi all,
I do have the following task & set-up for my Minix U9-H's (infact I own two with exactly the same shortcomings...):

I have a 75" Sony Monitor (FW-75XE8501) which I have my U9-H connected to in order to serve as a kind of a home made "digital signage" signaling device to basicly show picture based content in a galery showroom. To make up those slideshows I employ google slides, which really works like a charm by itself.

As my monitor itself is running on Android TV, some might ask why using an external TV box at all in the first place? I figured out that Android TV infact is a very crippled version of Android itself and wouldn't allow to install many of the apps I find useful and would not like to miss - the google slides app itself being not available for Android TV.

So, I am using the U9-H for this workaround, have it running continously and just switch on/off the screen with its inbuilt timer function (which also works fine).
My problem now is, that within a matter of a few days to weeks, the U9-H is crashing for certain, no matter what. Sometimes the screen remains black as if the box has been switched off, sometimes I have already witnessed a weird blinking vertical line on the screen because the resolution has mysteriously changed from full 4k to 6px by 2160px (?!). No matter how it crashed, I can just bring it back to life by pulling the power line and restarting.
Exactly this same behaviour I witnessed with my other U9-H - infact this was the very reason that I bought another one as replacement...

Has anyone here faced the same problem with continous operation? Is the U9-H just not designed for that? Any idea for a workaround?
I would appreciate our help!!

Thanks - Andreas

Running well for weeks at a time without issues is hardly a cause for complaint lol ;)!!! Any system in a daily state of use -> sleep -> use -> sleep over a period of weeks may eventually get hung up or crash.

However, try going into the U9-H settings -> display -> screen resolution, & change the setting from " auto switch to default resolution" & manually set it to 4K2K-60hz.

The app you're using as your make shift digital signage may also be part of the problem!!!! Some apps can become unstable when cycling between different states.

Any improvement or worse?

Hi there!

Thank you very much for your hint! I am about to try it and will give feedback as soon as I have some!
May be I am a little capricious with the U9-H because I have been "spoiled" by my old U8 witch I still have attached to my private TV (just full HD, no 4k) and it has been sitting there for some years now without beeing swiched off and it hasn't crashed a single time ever since... ?!

Anyway, thank you again - I will report my findings!

Best regards - Andreas

Hi,
When checking about the resolution, I found that I had already manually set it to 4k@60hz...
So, that should not cause problems...
Also, I tried a workaround for 4k video content that crashed the U9-H with the VLC-Player in continous loop within a few ours (for sure over night) - I had it played by the inbuilt Android TV video app: Plays fine, however when the timer kicks in and turnes the screen off and on again - the video wouldn't auto-start... :-/
Any further ideas??

Thanks a lot - Andreas

Try setting the resolution back to auto again instead then ;). Still the same or does that help?

By timer, I assume you mean you're setting a sleep timer on the TV, (or the U9-H), then both are shut down by HDMI CEC???

So what is it you now wish to achieve? (A video auto playing again when the TV & U9-H wake up from sleep?)
