Update to Windows 1909

Hi,

due to the near end of support of Windows 1809 I need to install Windows 1909 on my Minix Z83-4.
First question: is this possible at all?

Here is what I have expirienced so far.

I tried to install Windows 10 Feature Update (-> 1909) using the Windows Update mechanism but failed:
while downloading the update files, Windows complained that the internal storage had not enough free space (was ~8GB). However, Windows update offered to use an external storage for storing the update files. So I inserted a fresh USB stick (128 GB) into the USB 3.0 port. That seemed to work: Windows update continued downloading files and after finishing asked to reboot. After Reboot, the update started, but the progress bar was fixed at 0% for a couple of houres. So I deciede to let the system untouched for a whole night and the next morning I was welcomed by my desktop: no update had been installed, Windows still had version 1809. Fortunately, the Minix wasn't bricked by a failed OS update!

Have I done something wrong? Do I have to do the update completely different? Or am I doomed to stay with 1809?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reference! However I am not sure if I understood everything:
* You need so update from an USB stick or SD card. How were they prepared? Bootable Windows Installer built using Media Creation Tool (https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-using/9523a82e-7e78-4fa8-ade1-bcec31e225a9)?
* "You need roughly 10GB of free space to do the upgrade" -- on the internal eMMC of the minix? I am wondering how I can strip the installation in order to achieve that amount of free space

I downloaded the v.1909 ISO file and used the Rufus portable app to burn the ISO image to a flash drive. Then I restarted Windows and navigated to the flash drive and ran the Setup executable to begin the upgrade. You can use the Windows Disk Cleanup feature to free up disk space if you need to. I didn't have too many program installed because I rely on portable apps but I ran the Disk Cleanup utility after the upgrade to regain space.

Were you able to solve your problem. I'm having a terrible time with Windows 1909 update. I've got about 21GB free, so that's not the problem. I've tried to use Windows update, the Media Creation Tool, and an iso disk to install the update, and all fail even after a clean boot. The Windows Update troubleshooter has been no help. The update error that keeps returning is: 0x80240034....

Have you tried any of the other fixes that are strewn across the internet?

Villa, I've been trying just about everything I could find for about a week (I've got fifty pages of suggested things, so I'm not the only person that doesn't like Windows updates), and today on about the 20th attempt Windows decided it was going to update after about 3 hours of messing around. Persistence pays off, but this was not a lot of fun. Steve

I stopped at 19th attempt and made a bootable ISO of Windows update 2004( Instead of 1909) and did a clean installation. Loaded the drivers after that. Now it is all good. I got about 10 Gb free as well
