Good evening ... Tonight I updated u22 to fw 008 .... I find myself with black screen ..... What happened .... Why not on the forum. 'is no release news ...?

So, did you update FW008 on
Yes, I also have fw 008 offered as an OTA update on my U22-XJ. I didn't download/install it, I'm holding off until I see good reviews.

I updated my box with no issues. But Gmail drafts close, reopen, edit still doesn't work. I have sent this report to minix.



According to Minix, they will release an official update and bugtracker.

Perhaps the title of this should be changed to "Update u22xj" as opposed to " Update U22xj Max". A minor point, I admit.

Did you unplug the box or turn it off during the black screen episode?

My download took about 5/6 minutes.
Download to install about 20 seconds.
Black screen for quite a few minutes.
Then light blue speckled screen for about 30 seconds.
Then the pulsating Minix word for about 3/4 minutes and then loaded onto home screen and my launcher.

Perhaps turn on the Minix and check the Firmware. If it is not installed, try again. But wait until the process i detailed above is completed.

I apologize for the mistake ... This is u22 not max .... I did the whole process for 20 minutes ..... When he had to turn it back on he gave me the photo that I set as wallpaper for two seconds and then screen black .... Really annoying ..... I'm sorry to say ... I never complain .... According to consumer protection from unfair trade regulations, it is not possible to include false or deceptive messages (among other things) when promoting or advertising a product. And under the Consumer Rights Act, goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If the purchased goods do not satisfy one of these 3 things, you can file a complaint ... ... You can't update OTA if it fails ...... Because the more you will ask me again to reset everything .... Lose the data .... Reconfigure everything .....

I understand your frustration.

But having lived here in Asia for many years, I can assure you that trying to apply western consumer rights to a product made and advertised by an Asian company, holds no water here.

Even your European reseller has no liability over Asian products he sells, unless they wish to discontinue reselling a product that makes customers dissatisfied.

Having said that, maybe you could contact Minix and ask for a replacement or help, if in fact the goods are faulty.

But if other customers can download the OTA without issue, they may refer to this and apportion user error.

I am not saying you are wrong, merely pointing out a few salient points.

Have you tried rebooting as per my post?

The reason why haven't release on the forum is because we want some users to test the OTA.
If there's no problem, then we'll announce it to the public, we don't wish everyone to do the OTA before that.

Regarding your problem:
What's the current situation of your U22-XJ?
- Does the LED light glow when you attempt to power it on?
- Does the screen show MINIX logo when it's just started?
If possible, please send me an short video of the problem so that I may verify.
You may send me an PM when needed.

I'm on FW007, and FOTA tells me I'm on the latest version.
