Update Windows 10 Pro from 1803 to 1809?

Dear all,

My Minix Z83-4 Pro is currently running Win 10 Pro build 1803. 1903 for Minix is not (yet) available, but my Minix is now 'nagging' that 1803 will reach end of support soon. So I need to upgrade to 1809 since 1903 is not yet released by Minix.

How do I update from 1803 to 1809 without restoring the entire firmware, keep current settings? Or is it only possible to completely empty the Minix by updating according this procedure?

You can do like this:
1-manual update (in windows) or if you have automatic update enable the device do everything (sometimes lol ).
This keeps all your data/settings
2- you can download full image and do a fresh install.
With this you lose your data/settings
(Because with a new version it is always better a fresh install, formatting also the eMMC )

When 1903 version is available the process is the same.

Anyway i advice you to always do a backup of data , etc

Thank you. Data won't be a problem for me, everything is on an external HDD and cloud. The only thing I read on this forum is problems after updating (but I guess that's mostly due to 1903 not being supported yet).
 
Just wanted to let you guys know that I successfully upgraded 1803 to 1809. I downloaded the windows 10 1809 Iso file on my external HDD. Then I mounted it and installed (upgraded) from there. It took about 1,5 hrs to install.

No, I haven't tried to install 1903. I would assume that it wouldn't work for the best looking at previous blogposts so therefore I decided to upgrade to 1809 and having the USB 1809 ready in case something goes wrong in the future.

But for now 1809 works great.
