USB 2.0 Port not working at all!

Hello to everyone.
I bought a second hand T5 a few days ago.
Wanted yesterday to connect a dongle for these android keyboards/touchpads all-in-one, plugged it in the USB 2 port, nothing happened,
I thought hmm the system does not recognize the dongle.

On the USB 3 port I attached a USB stick which is working without any problems.
Same happens when I plug the dongle in the USB 3 port. It works!

Firmware is 4.9.16 so latest.

Do you think the USB 2 port is dead?
How can it be?

Thanks!

Is the USB stick working in USB 2 port ?

If not, contact Minix support for a replacement.

Ok i have found the support contact.
Also the firmware is 9.3.16 and not 4.9.16, totally wrong typing, sorry!

thanks!

Remote and keyboard dongles work fine for me in either USB port!

As for USB sticks, in my experience with the T5, exFat or FAT32 is a better option than NTFS.
For me USB sticks work in either USB port. At times though there does appear to be strange behaviour!

well they don't for me !!

DEVICE NAME : T5
OS VERSION: 9.3.15
BUG DESCRIPTION: Failure of A2 Lite ( and maybe other mouse remotes)
COMMENTS: I've been using a standard A2lite plugged into the USB 2 port which works fine for a while and then at some point completely fails to respond at all.
Take it out and pop the dongle in the USB 3 port and it works fine there, but still wont work in the USB 2 port.
Seems to need a complete reset of the device to bring the USB port 2 back again for use with the A2 lite but then packs up again at some undetermined point.

Please check if you've turned on the Developer mode.
If Developer mode is turned on, then USB-A 2.0 would not recognize the USB drive that connects to it.

thats weird...why would that be ?
to the best of my knowledge developer mode is required to enable adb debuuging so i always turn that option on.
If you enable adb debugging and then turn off developer mode is adb debugging still active ?

Yes, you're correct.
To clarify, when 'Developer options' > 'USB debugging' is turned on, then USB-A 2.0 would be disabled.
So, to make this port work, just to disable the 'USB debugging'.

When you turn off Developer mode, 'USB debugging' would automatically to turned off.

Thanks for clarification Martin...but that does seem strange to me and feels like a bug !

Ive never noticed that before on previous minix's :cautious:

Hopefully you can corrrect this in a long overdue firmware update which fixes the other significant T5 bugs as well ( HD audio and VPN over ethernet for example) ;)
