Wi fi

my problem is to see frequency 2.4 connected correctly ...... with a speed equal to 0 ... so I have described that maybe my box is defective !!!!!!!

Hi.

Put your router next to U22-XJ and try again.
That is one of the tests you can do (since your router is far from the minix)

Check again my post 18 and other posts in this thread.

I think the best solution and configuration are:
Routers with WIFI smart connect enable.

The routers automaticaly select/adjust the best 2.4GHZ or 5GHZ WIFI band, of course this requires that the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks use the same SSID, security options, and password.

I always have this setup with zero problems.

I have to disagree. The U1 could never have a perfect connection with that setup, which forced me to divide the credentials for each frequency.

Especially with the router placed at about 10 meters away from the device it would choose the 2.4Ghz as being the strongest signal, and stall the communication. Things would run smoothly and much faster when strictly connected to the 5Ghz frequency with a weaker signal.

The best system would be to have a device allowing to choose which frequency to connect as you have in the U9-H and of course the automatic possibility to whom it might work with.

I am not in place to consider that what is valid for me should be valid for everyone else. As with this particular thread I will have a look at why sometimes my solution is not valid for others. Maybe theirs is better than mine. I am always available to try other solutions and change whenever I'm wrong.

Lets keep an open mind!

There are many factors that interfere with WIFi such as walls, distance, etc.

I tested many configurations but now i always use : (it works for me)
WIFI smart connect enable, wireless channel auto, etc.

Most important is to have a strong wifi signal even if it is necessary to invest in more hardware (more routers, etc)

I think that each of us should try what works best for the specific case, with more stability , speed, etc

True!

My router on the main floor is more or less in the center of that floor. My kids always complained that the Wifi was the worse when they were close to it. Data is a expensive here in Canada and they pay their own phone plans, so they truly let me know when they can't connect with their Iphones.

Me on the other hand, I never have any issues with either my phone or laptop.......I would just tease them and them to get an Android phone!...;):D

When they moved only a few feet away or to another room on the same floor the signal was better and could connect easier for some reason:unsure:

Android Rocks lol .

I will never will buy a iphone (macbook, IOS stuff :), etc) because i don´t like it, but i respect the people who have.

The signal in my boxes can be improved or affected by simply moving them a few inches over the desk! I now marked the exact spot for better WiFi connection.

:) yes it is a idea.
Another idea is using an app to identify/monitor your wifi state.

I use DD-WRT Wiviz survey with dynamic Javascript-based interface, scans for networks and then shows signal strength, it is useful :).

That is as funny as hell :ROFLMAO::LOL: I suppose every generation has it's problems, I remember my fathers solution to a better TV reception was to put his briefcase on top of the TV and then put the bunny ears on top of the briefcase for the perfect height :LOL:

update ...... problem solved .... with static ip setting wifi 2.4 .... so the "problem" seemed to be dhcp .... speed returned as it should ......

Glad you fixed, well done. For clarity I assume you set static on your router (reserved ip) rather than on the U22 itself, the reason I ask is that reports have been made that static ip cannot be saved on the U22, myself included.

i set ip wifi 2.4 static on u22 .... you can do it .... i don't know for now with ethernet ..... wifi yes
I almost sure that you did other thing and you now are able to connect to 2.4ghz.

DHCP and static dhcp are not related to your issue.

You should be able to connect with DHCP and static dhcp (to 5ghz and 2.4ghz).

no no .... just this .... set static ip to u22 .... off and on again box
Ok... if it works for you.

But i advice you to think about distance between your router and minix (invest in new hardware (wifi extender, etc), change the place (router, minix) .

With better connectivity, speed you will be able to work without any issues(streaming, web browsing, etc...)
