Wi fi

update ...... problem solved .... with static ip setting wifi 2.4 .... so the "problem"
Ok... if it works for you.

But i advice you to think about distance between your router and minix (invest in new hardware (wifi extender, etc), change the place (router, minix) .

With better connectivity, speed you will be able to work without any issues(streaming, web browsing, etc...)
It's working, I'd leave it alone and enjoy !;)

Hahaha!
Awesome, Marty!

My parents had a plastic film with coloured transparent stripes to fit before the screen so it would simulate a colour TV. Regular black & white Tv got to the consumers in 1957, one single channel until 1968 when we got the 2nd channel, (we had to have a device attached for UHF). We only got colour tv in 1980!

Unfortunately I don't think I can trace any pictures for posterity.:ROFLMAO:

WiFi Not Connecting, I cannot get the U22-XJ to connect, it can see the wifi 2.4 and 5g but when I try to connect it can't find it. The router is a D-Link 880 and is 4 feet from the box. All my android devices tablet, phone etc., connect instantly but NOT the media box. RJ45 connect works perfect but not the wifi. Any suggestions?? And yes tried restarting router and box, and changing channels etc in the router but to no avail. These boxes are brand new today.

Have you tried factory resetting the NEO U22-XJ? Or manually re-installing the firmware on your NEO U22-XJ?

Have you tried factory resetting the NEO U22-XJ? Or manually re-installing the firmware on your NEO U22-XJ?

The issues I have are as follows:
1. When switching over to wifi in settings/ network, it shows my 2 .4 and 5g as saved. However when I click on either it states " connect" , but will not connect.

If I pull the lan cable out ans go through the same procedure, wifi connects without a problem.

2. When inserting the Lan cable back into the box....go to settings, it shows ethernet connected.....however if you then click again on Network and Internet, it shows wifi as still on.
The slide button is over to the right.
If I click on the wifi, it turns off and my two 2.4 and 5g naturally disappear.

But no such problem with the U9 and another unnamed android Stb.

Perhaps I am doing something wrong. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Android devices (u9h and u22-xj for example) give always priority to ethernet if you have both rj45 cable and wifi connected.

In order to use just wifi you need to remove ethernet cable.

The same is true for windows (windows 10) but in windows you can disable ethernet connection with the mouse.

Thank you. And I do not wish to query your advice. But on the U9 it was easy to turn ethernet on and off in settings. Then clicking on wi fi to activate it.
And I do not recall ever having to remove the Lan cable from the box to activate wi fi. But I will check that out...Maybe memory is failing??

So, is the issue of reconnecting the Lan cable, then in network settings it shows ethernet connected and next step into network/internet to see the wifi button as on? Is this normal?
Thank you.

Thanks Marty...thought I was losing it???

EDIT: Final question.

Under Network/ Internet, should "Scanning always available " be on or off when using ethernet? Seems a bit daft to allow google location service and other apps to scan for s network, even when wi fi is off.

Thank you for the reply, I guess I took my dumb dumb pill, you indeed are correct it chooses the RJ45 connect over the wifi. I forgot this, once I disconnected the lan, the wifi immediately connected to both 2.4 and 5g. BTW so far on the testing "LOVE THIS BOX" , I bought 2 one for me and 1 for the wife. Thanks for the help!!
PS: My apologies to the admin, I posted in 2 places....just new here and getting my footing.
Thanks all !!

Curious to know why you aren't using Ethernet if you have the cable connected?
Or is it purely for testing purposes?

I use the ethernet as I run a 16 port 1g switch box to the 1 g routher to manage all my hard wired connects, but I was first testing to make sure the wifi works on the U22-XJ, due to I am recommending this box to a family member who does not have wired RJ45 connects through out his house and is NOT network savy, but can only connect via wifi to his provider modem box So after the help recieved here I am confident he can connect via wifi.
Thank you so much again for the support!!

Hello guys!
In the last three days I have been updating the firmware of my Mini neo X8H Plus and I came across a problem when I connect to the 5ghz network, connecting to 2.4ghz is fine but connecting through the minix menu at 5ghz says that the password is invalid. I have the same password for both networks and I have no problems with other devices.
This only happened after updating the firmware to lolipop and I installed it several times to try to solve this problem.

Some devices (or firmware) often run into problems with the actual channels they can actually use within the 5 Ghz spectrum, more so when the channel assignment is configured to be fully automated in the router settings.

Your specific region & router may also play a part as to which channels are available, whether it will allow you to set individual channels, certain channel groups, or just a wider range, as an example, say between 32 - 44 & so on.

Try setting a lower range 44 or below initially or select a single channel within the lower range & see if the device will then successfully connect at 5 Ghz. Failing that, try an available higher range, or try assigning a single channel if your router will allow it.
