Wifi connected no internet

My mate brought the Neo and I took it home and set it up for him as he is tech challenged. Whilst settimg it up I just connected it via Ethernet and everything worked fine. The only thing I did before I brought it back to his house was remove my Google account.

When we connected it up at his house via wifi due to Ethernet not being an option it says Wifi connected no internet. We tried on both 5g and 2.4g

So I thought I would create a hot spot with my phone and that worked perfectly. Any ideas what might be going on here?

We no the wifi works as he has an extender in the loungroom and his lap top works fine via wifi.

Try rebooting both the T5 & his router initially in case of an IP conflict, etc.

Hi.
First you must check if Wi-Fi is working well (you already said that it is), only with the router connected to T5 (and if you have internet with WIFI and ethernet)
Second if you use an extender you must check your extender configuration
Third you must check the router using an extender.

Some Notes:
-Try first rebooting both router and T5.
-check your router settings and if you changed many things you must think to factory reset router (warning- all configurations will be lost).
-what i understand from your question is that you have an wifi extender (not connected by cable).
-i don't use wifi extender, i have two routers connected by cable : (and three switches but those switches are only plug and play, no webgui)
First router - ISP default settings
Second router - AP mode
-So you must also check the distance between the two devices (router and extender)

Ok will give that ago thank you I will catch up with him tomorrow. Just strange worked fine at my house although when I set it up it was via Ethernet. The neo was place right next to wifi extender. I know nothing about them. Never used them. But his lap top works fine though. But cheers for the response

So the distance between the box and wifi extender is about 20cm. This is my mates router so I dont know how it's been set up but yes your right the easiest course of action is to reboot both devices. All other devices in the house hold connect fine to the modem/router..

Appreciate the response and help thank you

I was talking about the distance between the router and extender.
The distance between T5 and extender is good.

You must also check your mates router configuration :) , that is also important.
