Windows 10 "Remote Desktop Connection" to NEO J50C-4 Plus getting "Other User" login screen on Minix

Greetings! I have been remotely operating the above Minix PC via an ethernet connection successfully for some time. I've now upgraded the desktop which operates the Minix remotely and am unable to connect. Prior to the desktop change, the account which came up on the screen was "allan", the administrator account for the Minix. I don't remember if I needed to input a pin or not but it opened the Minix smoothly. After the desktop upgrade, when I try to access the Minix using the Remote Desktop Connection, instead of the admin account name, it shows "Other User" and says the user name or password is not correct. I can operate the Minix with direct use of a keyboard/mouse/monitor but I need the remote connection to do what it is needed to do. I've spent a couple hours trying to figure this out unsuccessfully! I've set up an "Other User" account on the Minix. When I input that account name and password which I know is correct, I get a "user name or password is incorrect" message. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and best regards!

Allan

1-make sure you have enable smb protocol

https://zappiti.uservoice.com/knowl...--network-smb1-sharing-protocol-on-windows-10

2-disable temporarily your antivírus/firewall

3-remote desktop:
-ip adress or hostname
-username
-password

(Double Check MINIX credentials)
Thanks for these suggestions. I'll try them but it seems like it is a log in problem and not a file sharing problem. The Minix will not give me a selection of which account to sign in with from the remote desktop connection. Thanks for your help. I'll let you know how I come out! Have a good weekend!

Thank you.
Have a great weekend also.

I had before remote desktop issues, so one of the things i did was check windows features.

Also you can check your windows network configurations and BIOS settings.

Could I ask how you are connecting remotely? If it is via Chrome Remote Desktop I would suggest deleting that PC from the list on the PC you use to connect, uninstall and reinstall Chrome Remote Desktop from the Minix and start over, I suspect that the upgrade has corrupted the connection.

Thanks Marty and Notrui! I'm embarrassed to say that the solution was simple and obvious (now). On the remote desktop login screen there was a place to edit the sign in credentials. In the transition to the new desktop remote connection login screen, it assumed I wanted to use my MS account as the login for the Minix computer. The Minix was set up with a local account. After struggling with this for a couple weeks to no avail, it occurred to me to look for a way to change the remote connection credentials to the Minix account and it worked immediately. Again, an embarrassingly simple fix. Changed the remote connection login credentials to the local account. I'm 74 so I'm claiming diminished capacity! ;-) Sorry I wasted everyone's time who responded but maybe someone else will have the same simple issue.
