Hello
I try to upgrade the z83-4 to the 1809 version with windows assistant but with a negative result.I upgraded with a free space of 13 gigabytes, but on restart I always have a bleed screen with a Qr code at the bottom of a left. I tried to solve the problem with the BIOS V1.8, but always the same error. How can I upgrade the z83-4 to the latest version?with N42C-4 I switched to version 1809 without problems. Thanks in advance for the help.

Mine updated fine through windows update. It was running fine, then I had a crash after making a disk image to an external SSD. The machine will no longer boot. I can't even get into the BIOS most of the time. 90% of the time all I get is a black screen. I tried re-installing Windows, but it will not successfully install. It goes back to starting with no Minix logo, just a black screen, and once I got a Windows error, but then after that, nothing from the PC. I can't even boot with the USB drive anymore.

By the way... I had to make a new account for the forum. It looks like my old account didn't transfer over.IMG_5895(800px).JPG

Do you have the FTP info? I think I need to get the original Windows image for the Minix Z83-4. I couldn't get the machine to do anything... just a blue light and black screen. I then plugged the Windows 10 USB stick into the 2.0 port and was for some reason able to get into the BIOS. I set the USB as the boot priority to start the install. Everything copies over to the internal SSD then the install goes blue with a mouse cursor in the middle of the screen and then black screen again.

UPDATE: I had remove the USB stick and restart the PC manually... "Getting ready" came up then black screen. Had to restart manually again... it then gave me the keyboard selection... black screen again. Re-start manually... black screen no response. It won't let me in the BIOS either. I think the SSD is toast.

Update2: I took the box, physically flexed it in my hands and pressed the power button, and it started up into the Windows recovery mode and asked to reset the PC. And then it went back to only a black screen again.

Send me a private message if this problem persists.

OK, so far the image install appears to be working but it loops... I think someone forgot to put a pause to let the USB stick be removed before re-boot.

Update: So far the machine is running... Although I had to install the updated Intel video drivers that Microsoft tech support recommended to me before (it accepted them so they must still be more recent). They are GFX_Win10-8.1_64_15.40.37.4835.zip on intel's web site. And if you have a second monitor on the mini pc, you may have to unplug and re-plug in the HDMI chord for it to be recognised (I had to).

Hopefully the crash wasn't a hardware issue, and just poorly written imaging software.

We don't advise upgrading to v.1809 yet.

We shall release an image once it's been fully tested.

John - When do you expect to release the image for v1809?

I ask because Windows Update keeps finding v1809 available to install, but at least in my case the installation fails with error 0x80244018. I have not attempted to fix this error (frankly, in my opinion, there are no good solutions suggested on the internet) and as per your advice I'd rather wait for your image.

Hello
I managed to go back to the windows firmware and despite having 16 g free after installation I can not update in version 1809 is downloaded update but gives me error 0x1900101. why?

For what it's worth, after allowing Windows Update to use external storage (I nominated a USB thumb drive), clearing as much space as possible and giving it several attempts, 1809 finally installed for me. The system has just over 10gb free on the main hard drive (eMMC). Some of that is being used my by own files so it's actually more.
