Hi i am new here so if i ask a question that already been answered please forgive me.
I am connected to my home network on my neoU1
I have a 5ghz and a normal connection. The neo keep connect to the 5ghz even if i forgot it
It keeps connecting to the 5ghz network
How can i definitively forget the 5ghz and only have my normal network. The issue is that everytime its disconnect i lose my vpn connection as well
So i get on the 5ghz unprotected with my vpn
I don’t want to reset the whole thing and lose everything
Is there another way?
Thx in advance

The U1 doesn't have an option to select which frequency to prioritize and so it should automaticaly choose the strongest one with a valid password. I had known about a situation where the user wanted to connect to the 5Ghz and because the router was about 15 metres away from the U1 and the 2.4Ghz has a wider range this would be the one prefered automaticaly by the U1.

Because both networks had the same SSID (name of the netwok) and the same password the machine would choose the strongest signal to hit the antenna even if the 5Ghz could reach higher speeds.

The solution there was the same I recommend you:

Change the network names in the router for each of the wifi frequencies and give a different password to each of them so you can select the frequency you wish to connect any time. Keep in mind that some devices won't be able to see the 5Ghz network (I got a Windows 7 computer that can't and some older smartphones also) but once again you connect them to the 2.4Ghz network as before.

The U1 will still try to reconnect to the 5Ghz after some restarts eventually bcause it recognizes that network present in your router, even if you had set it to forget that network, when that starts to happen you will notice it will take longer to connect, but if you dont supply it with the password it will not be able to and it will look for the next valid one and get to the 2.4Ghz one for which you set the proper password. And then you go back to wifi settings and remember it to forget the 5Ghz again if you wish to regain the fast connection speed.
