#3
This may be "off piste" but having successfully upgraded my x8h to lollipop, i have tried upgrading an 8xh-plus to lollipop using the official vesrion 1
upgrade (8xh-plus)
Connection and flashing apparently successful but unit is stuck in its initial screen despite repeated attempts.
Any help appreciated

Hi.
Power off the device and Disconnect everything from the device (power cable, hdmi cable , etc) and leave the device with all disconnected for a while (5 minutes for example).
After that connect only hdmi cable and power cable and power on the device.

If that does not work please reflash again the device using link2 (mega).

I have tried both, and whilst both appear to install, there is no boot-up beyond the initial Minix logo.
It seems well and truly bricked.

Are you 100% sure it is a X8-H Plus? If you are getting the Minix boot logo then it is not bricked, this is more of a bootloader problem.

Hi again,
Repeated attempts at re-flashing, all with the same result, stuck on the initial android screen.
I became so frustrated that I have purchased a U9-H from Amazon.
I would still like to have this unit fully functional though.

Give it a break now.

Try again after a few days.

I did the same with a router that i thought was bricked.
After many atempts, with pauses, reading a lot, that router is working again.

You can also try with:
-another PC, another OS (win 7 for example)
-other usb burning tool
-disable antivírus/firewall
-uninstall all programs that you don't use
-check if you have any problems with your windows PC (virus, etc)...

Hi Villa,
The last refresh was using kitKat FW011.
My decision re the U9 was entirely cost based and a "new" unit was £79.
Although I had already tried the sd card roll back (and failed), I now can report SUCCESS!
Thanks to everyone.
Shall I take the risk of re flashing to lollipop.?
Is there an SD card version.?

Can I use the successful roll back sd card method to upgrade to lollipop by substituting the roll-back zip with the latest official lollipop upgrade from Minix.?

Try now and use lollipop from server mega.

I suggest you do it (upgrade) because it is a more recent firnware (sooner or later some apps will stop working).

One example:
Kodi 17 and later requires that Android devices run Android 5.0 or later.

Today is day of disasters, and the old adage "don't repair if it ain't bust" is so true.
Having loaded a successful "roll back", I re-tried the lollipop upgrade without success.
Re-flashed the roll back to 4.2 as per sd instructions, but boot-up is now in a continuous loop, what is going on?

I have recently updated the firmware in one of my X8-HPlus boxes and it all seems to work except for one really important issue and that is I am unable to change the DNS to static and save the revised DNS settings. As soon as you click STATIC the save button becomes unavailable.

I have tried both available downloads and they both produce the same issue. Has anyone any idea why this is happening and whether it can be fixed?
