X8h- Plus Firmware update

I have recently updated the firmware in one of my X8-HPlus boxes and it all seems to work except for one really important issue and that is I am unable to change the DNS to static and save the revised DNS settings. As soon as you click STATIC the save button becomes unavailable.

I have tried both available downloads and they both produce the same issue. Has anyone any idea why this is happening and whether it can be fixed?

Yes thanks. I have now made the changes at my modem. This puts me in breach of my service agreement, but it is easy enough to change back should the need arise.

I'm using 5.1.1 on my Minix Neo-X8H-Plus. Is is possible to go beyond this OS?
I know it can be rooted but then it would be a case of knowing which version of Android was safe to flash onto it.

Unfortunately not, 5.1.1 was the last SDK released by Amlogic for the X8-H Plus.

So there is no way to do it in an unofficial way such as using the TWRP recovery and then flashing on a stock version of Android? I know that the newer versions of Android require certain hardware features which may not built into the device hence asking which version would be safe to put on.
