xubuntu 18.04

For now:

Sound working
WiFi working
4k display working
Blue-tooth working

Anyway.. nothing found that's not working :)

Installation iso can be downloaded from : https://xubuntu.org/release/18-04/

After the install 22 GB free
To enable WIFI do the following:

Download the attached file 4345r6nvram.txt

1 - sudo cp 4345r6nvram.txt /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.txt
2 - reboot

Important programs that should work:

Netflix - via firefox , only DRM should be enabled in firefof.
See: https://linuxconfig.org/watch-netflix-on-ubuntu-18-04-bionic-beaver-linux (only enable the DRM, not package install needed)

Installation at own risk.

Do not try to install the beta 18.10 ... its not working.

Have fun with it!

hello installing linux is lost the Windows license? I always stored in the bios for a possible return?

Thanks Kar Thanks Villa for the answer
I have been searching and seen most saying that installing Linux should not affect the stored license.

Also I have tried to find out if you take note of the stored license and it does get erased whether just entering it will reactivate Windows.
I couldn't find any definitive answers!

Yes they give the OEM key along with other info.

I usually run as many utils as I can find and save everything they find.

I use all the apps and make comparisons!

I've downloaded xubuntu from the link above, used rufus in both iso and dd mode to create the usb boot disk.
The usb stick worked well to install the Z83-4 official ubuntu release, so I assume is suitable for the task
When I boot my Z83-4 from the usb stick, after I select 'install xubuntu' I get a black screen and cannot procede with installation.
I wonder if there are some steps I'm missing.

BTW, about losing w10 licence you may wish to check my post : https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/caution-windows-license.192/#post-9286

I'm having that issue with Ubuntu 18.04, tried various burns with Rufus and just now tracked down a USB DVD drive and burned one the old-fashioned way :)

I get the BlackSOD.

Yes.
It is a solution that works ☺.

I also have a external usb DVD-RW drive , and if nothing else works i use it, it is very useful.
