Was trying to edit kl file to edit the keyboard so i switched on root and went to the generic file but it was right protected so stupidly i installed Super SU which after install rebooted the box and then got stuck on Minix logo. I managed to get into recovery mode to reset to factory but it is the same problem. So now i need to flash the box i guess from a PC but my problem is that root is switched on and so is auto power. It says in the install you need to switch off auto power, but unfortunately i can't do that because it is stuck on the minix logo. Any help please

I would assume that a factory reset would/should restore to root switch off and autopower disabled ??

Try this:
https://theminixforum.com/index.php?threads/minix-neo-u22-xj-how-to-enter-the-recovery-menu.2787/

Other procedure:
There is a hole on the u22-xj but i don't know the exact procedure to use just the paper clip to factory reset the device (inserting the paper clip for a time should factory reset the device)

Thank you for your help. I did manage to get into reset to factory but it still would not get past the Minix logo. I don't have a laptop so just nipped around to a friends house running Windows 7. Installed the correct burning tool 2.2.0 and loaded the image 006.....held pin in and power button down and got connected...tried this 3 times and each time it failed at 3% I am home now plugged the box back in just to see by miracle if it would boot up but now all that happens is the blue light comes on but the screen remains blank saying no hdmi signal, tried several different hdmi cables same problem it just isnt switching on anymore...Have I bricked my Minix U22 do you think. Using my trusty Minix U1 for now. Can anyone advise best thing to do. BTW tried putting it into recovery mode but no luck just a blank screen with the blue power button light on

Turn off the device and remove everything (power cable, hdmi cable , etc).
Leave the device for a while turned off (10 minutes for example).

Try after that and connect the device on another tv/monitor.

I have moved these posts to a new thread as they aren't Bugtracker related.

I'm sure a lot of hard work went into the new update, but for me nothing has changed except that movies with AC3 audio no longer play. I think we have lost site of what people want with there Minix U22. Not everyone has there unit tackled up to a home cinema setup. For me and many others I am sure there setup is basic, just a HDMI cable direct o the TV to watch downloaded movies and stream live TV and maybe browse and check emails. But the most basic function has been overlooked, the ability to use a wireless keyboard. I know its geared up for use with the Neo A3 remotes, which I have but actually hate to use and is sitting in a draw doing nothing. Should there not be a switch to select whether your using a remote or a keyboard. To me the keyboard is the most fundamental add on and as such should be able to function properly. I can't tell you how disappointed I was after such a long wait to find it had been completely overlooked. I am sure I am not the only one that has been waiting for this. Please remember not all Minix users are looking for a high end setup. So for now I'm back again to my Minix U1. Very disappointing indeed.
I use a Logitech K400 and a TK820, both work fine. (but I had to temper with the .kl files until 006FW)

I looked into that a while ago and Factory reset doesn't affect the MCU settings!
OK, good find, but it should do shouldnt it

and if autopower on is enabled would/does it not go into recovery mode for flashing if you pushed in the reset button and then plugged in the power cord

Yes it does!

But I already tried that too because I didn't believe it wouldn't. But if the autopower is enabled flashing does not work!
I can't remember exactly but I think it bombs out mid-flash.

Looks like TWRP may be the next solution to try then. I cant help there as not enough experience using it, Ive only dabbled !
Need to wait for @Marty to chime in

Thank you everyone for your help. Can you tell me how do I install TWRP if the box won't even switch on and I can't get it to go into restore. Is it something I put on a usb and then plug in....Thanks again everyone for all your help

Just read your reply. Yes before I tried to reflash i could get into recover mode using the pin and just plugged the power in...didn't need to press the power button. But after the flash bombed out at 3% each time, now it won't switch on.

Just tried the box again it has been unplugged for over an hour. Held the pin in and plugged the power lead in. The screen went from no hdmi signal to a blank screen for about 3 seconds and returned to no hdmi signal. I hope Marty can help if he comes online, because I am at a loss what to do now.

Hello, I had a similar problem, it was impossible for me to flash the U22-XJ and thanks to Marty's help with TWRP I managed to restart the device. But for this you will need a pc and a sd card and following the instructions that Marty gives you rigorously, if you can see TWRP on your television the process is not complicated.
Courage and good luck.

Did you continue to hold the Recovery button in?
