A2 or A3 ?

I had intended to pick up an A3 remote, however after reading about the remote shutting down after ten seconds which I thought would be very annoying I'm now thinking of going with an A2. What would I be missing out on if I do go with an A2 ? Any thoughts and opinions ?

Thanks...

The A3 adds only voice recognition. If you don't need it, choose A2 ;)

Thanks guys.

I read some Amazon reviews that said there was a problem with the Back Button when using Kodi, has this been corrected ?

dont read to mucjh into amazon reviews !

depends what you want your back button to do in Kodi but you can easily set it to what you want it to do by using the kodi keymap editor...its simple to use

if you dont want voice recognition ( pretty pointless really IMHO when you have a good remote) than A2 lite is the way to go

Thanks Pusb87.

Hopefully there are people here that can help this noob with the kodi keymap editor if need be.

I have recently bought a U9 that was packaged with the A3 remote. The keyboard works well .. although I also have a wireless full size keyboard and remote so that is not a big deal. The flyover mouse is very handy.

What seems impossible for me to get to work is the voice control. I use Siri regularly, I have a Roku Ultra with voice, and my son's LG television uses Google Assistant with a voice remote control, so I have a pretty good sense of how responsive (and how accurate) these tools should be.

In my case, I will get the prompt on my screen telling me to give the assistant commands, but it never "hears" them. I do have audio input set to use the remote.

Am I missing something, or does this sound like my A3 is defective?

Your A3 is probably fine, it's the Google Assistant/app that can be troublesome at times.

You'll see a button with a microphone icon on your A3, (right under the D-pad). Try pressing that with the Google Assistant running, hopefully you should then be able to use voice control as normal.

Let us know how you get on :).

I don't like the A3 because it goes into standby mode after 10 seconds. Thereforeyou have to wake it up then use it. So it takes a click to turn it on then you can use it normally. I found that annoying. The A2 lite is much better in that regard alone.
