A3 occasionally stops responding

Hi,

I've just recently gotten my T5 and A3 remote, and occasionally, the A3 stops responding altogether. Only the power button which uses IR works. Any other button press doesn't work, and the LED doesn't light up at all. Regular IR remote works. Unplugging and replugging the USB dongle resolves the issue.

Any advice what else I can try to identify what's wrong?

Have you received any OTA firmware updates?

Below is a post I made in private...
"I was having issues with the A3 Backlit version. Unresponsive mainly! Dongle was in USB 2 port. I connected to USB 3 port a dongle for an A3 and tried that and it functioned well the backlit A3 still was playing up. I restarted the T5 and since have had no issues.
Whether this was before or after the OTA update I do not remember!"

Please let me know if the above advice resolves the problem, otherwise send me a PM and I'll help fulfil the NEO A3's warranty.

Another option is that you could try the re-pairing procedure.

Sometimes a quick reset can help with this kind of problem. Details are on the quick start guide included with the A3, or there's 2 different procedures at the following link you could try.....

Any improvement or still the same?

Failing that, ^^^ as already suggested above by @JJ-KwiK :).

Tried following the steps. Still occurs. :(

I checked for OTA updates. It shows that my system is up to date. Firmware version is 9.3.15.

Some additional information when it occured to me today. I had a video paused in Kodi and had the unit go to sleep. Upon waking it up a few hours later, it's back at the home screen and the remote is unresponsive. I rebooted the unit using the IR remote, but the A3 is still unresponsive when the T5 is fully booted. Pressing any button doesn't light up the leftmost LED like it usually does. Will try to simulate the above again and see if it's replicable.

I don't wish to sound condescending or patronise you, so please don't think I am :)!!!!

You have ensured your batteries are good ;)? (You wouldn't be the first to overlook it, that's all :).)

I use rechargeables in all of my A2 Lite/A3 remotes & I frequently notice that as the remotes are used over time the cells discharge very unevenly. (One barely drains at all whilst the other will be completely flat when requiring a change.). I don't know which one it is (top or bottom), I keep forgetting to check them when I actually remove them.

Depending on the apps you're using that may have voice control you'd be surprised how quickly the cells in an A3 can drain. So far I've noticed my cells are draining far faster in conjunction with the T5 when compared to the U9-H as well.

It certainly sounds like you may well have a defective remote but am just asking on the off chance you hadn't thought to check or change your cells :).

Hope you're sorted soon :).

I appreciate any form of help in terms of nailing down the issue. Cells are new so I'm sure they shouldn't be the problem. And the remote works well after plugging/unplugging the receiver so that should rule out cells as an issue.

I had a set of wireless keyboard and mouse (with dongle) and sometimes (just ) the keyboard stoped responding and i had to unplug and plug again the dongle. (The wireless mouse worked fine)

i changed (replaced) to another set and now i don´t have problems

I think you might have a defective remote. (you tried all the other suggestions).

Thought you probably had checked them, & yes, if it's working fine in-between the periods of becoming unresponsive it would also indicate they're fine :).

My first A3 was defective but it had very different issues. It happens.

Hopefully a replacement will be with you soon :).
