A3 remote goes into standby after 10 seconds

I had the U1 with the A2 remote which worked fine and now upgraded to the U9 with the A3 remote. The thing is now the remote goes into sleep mode after 10 seconds and I have to press a button twice to actually get it to work: once to wake it up from sleep mode then to actually work. Anybody else have this issue with the A3 remote? I'm using the A2 from my Minix U1 for the moment until I figure this out. Any help would be much appreciated.

Also: I use CoreElec, and I have the same issue there. For example if i want to pause a movie, I have to press the pause button twice with the A3 as opposed to just once with old A2 remote.

Your A3 is functioning correctly!
Yes, it's power saving features do annoy some but I can't say I notice it that much!

I do personally prefer the A2 though and I never use voice search.

as @Villa has said this is how the A3 has been designed to be
i find it annoying like yourself and i wish it could be changed somehow :poop:

You just get used to the A3 after a while :).

I found it annoying initially too & I have enough rechargables floating around to power a bloody hybrid car. Not that bothered about the power saving but that's just me. Most users will no doubt prefer the additional battery life, however :).

It's muscle memory now, I just double click like a mouse when I pick up the A3 :).

Annoying is having multiple devices with A2's, A3's & W2's as well lol. Incorrectly pick one up to use it & then wonder why nothing's happening for a couple of seconds pmsl ;).

I have a a2 lite and i dont know how long it takes to enter standby mode.
I noticed that my w2 remote takes even less than 10 seconds to enter standby mode (4 seconds or something like that).
For me it is a good feature to save power and it does not bother me.

I already got used ☺
