A mi me dejó en mi minix z64 colocando un usb y libero espacio por ahí. Es como que windows cuando detecta que no puede actualizar te ofrece que metas un pendrive

I suggest following the advice here, so you can most efficiently reduce space on the internal storage to allow for Windows Update:

https://www.windowscentral.com/best-7-ways-free-hard-drive-space-windows-10

I have the same problem, and I've tried at least 20 times to update Windows 10. I checked the pages at Windows Central mentioned in the post above.

I have stripped everything out of the Minix, with absolutely no files on the hard drive that are not OS files, but no joy. Not enough room. There is only one user. I have put a clean 20-GB USB drive in the USB 3.0 port and the machine will NOT use it for storage on the install.

I cannot force Windows to store files on the USB drive, and I cannot get enough space on the Minix hard drive to run the update. I have tried deleting surplus files within the Windows folder and it won't let me.

Ideas??

I had the same issue all the time and I have spent days, if not weeks trying to clean the disc, make space available, etc. I did PC refresh, to get rid of old OS files, to free disk space. I even did clean windows 10 installation, which basically helped too, but the big issue is that every time you install the latest Windows Updates you will realize that there are only 4-5 GB left and this is before additional custom apps and software are being installed on the system and with only one user account. This might somehow work, yes, until the next Windows 10 major release. At that point one is prompted again by the Windows Update Installer to free some additional space, at least 8 GB, or similar. I am sure, you know the issue. And the painful trials to clean some files, uninstall some apps and so on start again, but all this is just a waste of time. There is an option to use external USB drive where Windows could save the setup files, but I never had success with that one. At some point I got sick with all that stuff and my solution to the problem was to buy a larger SSD drive (120 GB in my case), where I installed Win 10. Now I am able to boot from this external drive and I don't have to care about low disk space anymore. Just a few hints for those that would like to give this a try - installing Win 10 on USB drive (64 GB in my case) did not work because Windows Installer did not recognize it; or I used third party tools to create a bootable USB drive with Win 10, but I was not able to boot from such one after that on this device (it worked without issues on my other ASUS Mini PC however), finally using SSD drive did the trick, but, IMPORTANT, there is a setting in the BIOS which must be enabled in order to be able to install OS on external SSD. Of course I also had to create a bootable Win 10 installation USB drive using the MS Media Creation Tool, the installation wizard could now recognize my SSD, format it and install Win 10 successfully. Good luck to everyone! I hope this helps.

Please what is the important BIOS setup for MINIX NEO Z83-4? Thank you

Can you be more specific please?

Are you asking what the BIOS actually is or are you asking if there's any specific settings you need to change in the BIOS? (Your question isn't very clear on that!)

Don't know had similar problems on the z64w, think it has to do with the new update. they are bigger than normal. I couldn't do it that way. I had to do a new update on May 2020 and was then able to do the new upgrade to the new version with the Iso. For me it was up to the Fat32 to only be installed and the new Win version did not support that it is 6GB in size. Only the online upgrade was possible. Maybe that can help, I have problems like this on other PCs too

I had the same problem, was adviced by Microsoft to re install Windows from a USB drive, which I did, and now it turns out the BIOS cannot boot the Windows after installing. So PC is rendered unusable. I was told by Microsoft support that they do not support Minix mini PC's so getting some other product if you want to run Windows is probably a better choice. It ran fine for 3 months then the updates started pouring in and it went downhill from there, the end result a Minix pc unable to run either Windows or Linux. Money out the window.

So I had the following similar problem with the Z64W. For me it was the size of the update and the free memory. I had to free up 25 GB on my hard drive. Then when I wanted to start the update with Rufus, he always jumped to NTFS, it was desperate until I noticed the installation stick only works with Fat32 and files up to 4GB. My bios did not recognize anything in the NTFS to install.
But then you could not update the upsate.
So I had to do a complete new installation, due to the size of the new 6GB update, that was not possible.
But then I found the following solution for myself, I reinstalled the May 2020 update of the Fat 32 USb Stick. and then performed the November upgrade in Windows, I was glad it worked. I also had the problem on other computers, not a Minix. I don't think it's because of that. To save your Windows, you can try to create another partition with Diskpart and the repair mode and do a Win Install on the device there in parallel. But you can also do an installation on an external hard drive and then read out your drive with Diskpart, example lis dis, sel dis ..., lis vol sel vol look for the Efi start partition mostly 100 MB
assign it a letter with assign letter = Z close Diskpart and start with bcdboot your hard drive letter: \ Windows / s for me Z:, or rewrite the whole EFi start, bcdboot C: \ Windows / s Z: / f UEFI . So you can start Windows from the hard drive and make a backup of the old one. Drive B letter you have to add yours is just an example from me. Maybe this can help you?
Would be very happy.

But something else could also work.
By inserting an SD card at least 64 GB and trying to integrate it into C: as a folder.
Change this PC, Manage, Disk Management, right mouse button, drive letter or paths and from sd to c:, sd as a folder.
You have to try, it will definitely expand your internal memory.

I manage dozens of MiniX NEO Z83-4 pc's and as a result have seen much in respect to the issues surrounding Windows Updates and storage space. There is a point where, if the PC reaches a certain point, I cannot get Windows to update. I then perform a fresh install. I have also noticed that after the more recent major upgrades, the MiniX Z83-4's have more available drive-space than ever before. Typically a fresh install was leaving me with around 6 Gb of space available but after the Windows 20H2 I have between 11 and 12 Gb available space. (This will wipe anything you have off the PC).

The sequence I find most effective - begin with a fresh install of the latest available version from this site. Once installed (about 1/2 hour) immediately begin to perform all the latest Windows Updates. Recently this immediately includes updates to the 20H2 version. Be patient, between these major updates, you can expect around 2 to 3 hours before you have it fully updated. Once completing all available updates, the PC will have around 6 Gb of storage remaining. Then using disk clean-up, perform the initial clean-up checking all the boxes. After that clean I run Clean-up System Files, also clicking all the boxes. At this point the major dump of excess files occurs (although it might say in the neighbourhood of "15" Gb will be freed, in actuality you will now have around 10 GB of available storage) - this is more than has been available previously.

One more step I do is to re-run the system files clean-up a second time this time choose the system files again but choosing the tab "more options" and "remove system restore and shadow copies". Finally you should see around 11 to 12 Gb storage remaining available. It is time consuming but now gives you much more storage capacity along with the latest updates complete.

I'm sorry I assumed you knew this.
But it's good that you write that.
I work with the Advanced System Care Free tool, now with AI.
But I had already written that this also includes these and many other clean options as well as optimization and problem elimination as well as cleaning up the registry and fixing hard drive problems .
Try SmartDefrag, both from iobit. Windows takes a very long time to defragment, hours, not even an hour ...,
Take a look at iobit, uninstaller, is a cool tool, removes programs and registry entries at the same time. Updates, toolbars, etc.
If you can't uninstall everything in Windows, this tool has always done it for me so far. With these tools I managed to boot ancient dual core PCs with 800mhz A memory with Win 10 in 19 seconds. But also think about manual duplication of outsourcing

Another cool tip, just expand your internal memory, this PC, right click, disk management, take your mSD card formatted NTFS, you can also take it larger, you have to test how many GB your device supports.
Expand your C drive and provide your msd card in C as a folder.
