Hello I've just purchased the u22 as a upgrade to my u9 and was just wondering does it come with a hdmi cable 2.1 or just 2.0. the u22 is hdmi 2.1 compatible you see but just seeing if it actually ships with it.

There's actually no such thing as an HDMI 2.0 a/b, or HDMI 2.1 cable per se. (If you look closely at the specification printed on the supplied cable you'll see it says "High Speed HDMI". Technically, the official maximum specification of a "High Speed HDMI" cable is 4K@30 Hz, 3D, deep colour. (Whilst that doesn't "officially" include 4K@60 Hz or HDR, many high speed cables are still compatible with 4K@60 & HDR).

However, the U9-H shipped with the same "High Speed HDMI" cable & I can certainly remember testing the cable with my first U9-H when it arrived & it definitely worked at 4K@60 Hz & with HDR too. (And, with deep colour, 3D & ARC before that's asked as well lol ;).)

Personally, I now have to use HDMI cables with a right angled connector on one end to fit them in behind my AVR & I haven't tested the cable supplied with the U22 but it appears on the surface at least to be the same as the cable supplied with the U9-H.

(I'll defer to one of the guys who has tested the supplied cable as to whether it will definitely support 4K@60 Hz & HDR for certain. (Although, I'd be surprised if it didn't.))

Otherwise, some additional info regarding HDMI cables "somewhat summarised" for you if it proves useful, (you may want to pay particular attention to the cable required to officially support the full HDMI 2.1 specification). You can obviously get Googling too if you require more info :)....

Consumer HDMI cables are basically divided into these categories...

Standard HDMI Cable (up to 1080i and 720p).
Standard HDMI Cable with Ethernet.

High Speed HDMI Cable (1080p, 4K@30 Hz, 3D, & deep colour).

As of 2015 a new class was added (premium), in summary certified at 18 Gbits/s for HDMI 2.0 & shielded to minimise wireless interference. (NOTE:- Many older HDMI cables such as "High Speed" can & often do still meet the official specs of a "premium" cable, but, obviously there's no guarantees & they're just not certified as "premium", that's all. I.e. as above, some "high speed" cables can still support 4K @ 60 Hz & HDR).

Otherwise, as of 2017 another additional class of cable was added in conjunction with the new HDMI 2.1 specification/standard, often referred to as "48G" or category 3 HDMI cable, but officially known as....

Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable (4K @ 120 Hz, or, 5K, 8K, & 10K @ 60 Hz).

Ultimately, 48G cable is still highly specialised, not to mention very pricey. I'd say it's "highly improbable" that the cable included with the U22 meets the "48G" specification, (especially as it simply has "High Speed HDMI" printed on the exterior sheathing as with the cable supplied with the U9-H ;) ).

The U22 seems to support HDMI 2.1 to some degree & obviously it has the inclusion of HDR10+ & Dolby Vision visually as well. However, the U22's official datasheet specifies a maximum visual resolution & refresh rate of 4K@60 Hz which is essentially the same specification of the U9-H, (HDMI 2.0).

Hope that helps :).
