Fotaprovider

In short, yes.

1 - Check in Settings, Security, that "Install From Unknown Sources" is greyed out.

2 - Please install Malwarebytes from the Playstore and run a full scan.

Please report from there.

According to the Malwarebites forum (as it was their app that started the warning), that file should have no longer been detected as malware since 2015. And so I thought I was sending you in the right track.

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/168824-malware-found-android-trojan-dropper-cant-be-removed/

However, I got the time now to test the app with that name that runs from the system in a U1 with Malwarebites new version, as they said it was a False Positive and should have corrected it then. Apparently they didn't.

So, I tested with Avast, as this subject was once discussed in their forums also, and as expected the machine came out clean.

If your test with Malwarebites finds that one only infection, especially if your U1 is not rooted, I would say you are pretty safe as the original file in your Minix box was not overwritten by malware, and the file you have is likely to be legit. Yes, it has a lot of permissions, not so much different from thousands of other apps you can install from the Playstore.

It is true you should always worry about something you find suspect from one day to the other. However many websites also spread hoaxes that we have to carefully check.

Some demystification is required on the above. Contrary to the fake news you can find over some of those untruhtful web sites that tend only to spread caos, the app Fotaprovider can be found also in expensive Android machines that are not chinese at all.

Once again, all sources should be carefully checked.

10 a lot. Got me calm down.
Actually it was zone alarm That gave me the alert.
Will try malwarebytes as well and will report
