Title says is all, have 2 U9's one has become quite buggy. (Can't delete video flies, without pulling the usb storage and deleting with computer) MX player will not autoscan flies, must delete the drive references in MX and re add them to force a scan, tried many apps to delete files locally, I think the file structure is messed up) Anyway, back to the title, can I FULLY back up one U9 and transfer the backup to my other U9?

Yes you can with a custom recovery called TWRP:

Thanks so much. The only thing that worries me is the last words in the first line in the link """"The only Minix device officially listed on TWRP.ME is the U1 and its TWRP/recovery.img doesn't work with the U9-H.""' Is that false information and I am fine with the U9? Thanks in advance.
I have used TWRP on the X8-H Plus, the U9 and the U22 without problems, it just means it is not an official release by Team Win Recovery Project. That said I will chuck in the disclaimer of "use at your own risk".

I would advise against replacing the stock recovery and go with TWRP off an SD Card rather (y)

Thanks a ton, then it's just it's not our fault if you brick it. Not a problem, that's a given on flashing about anything. Thanks again. (I think I will try to reset it first for the reasons you state, hate setting up everything again but oh well.

I didn't mean to scare you off, I have honestly never had a problem with TWRP, if anything it has got me out of a few bricked situations (and quite a few forum members too :giggle:). What I would suggest is a backup of just the Data partion of the good unit, flash the dodgy unit instead of a factory reset and restore the backup of the Data partion onto the freshly flashed unit.

On a side note, factory reset via TWRP is also a way better option than via Android, it clears the dalvik cache which can cause problems.

P.S I did this tutorial for the U22 but it is pretty much identical for the U9 apart from the various additional partitions, have a read through and maybe your mind will be put to rest:

Will read right now, thanks a ton.

Going to try it in about a week, bought a spare and will set that up first and will fix the other one and use it in the bedroom. Hope you don't mind if I PM you if I have any questions, I learn fast but it's nice to have a "been there done that" to answer a quick question. Thanks my friend.

No problem (y)

Thanks so much, I may have fixed it but not sure yet, seemed a SD card was corrupted which somehow jammed up any file deletions, once I fixed the card with my PC I have deleted a few files and it seems to spot new ones but may be back at you as I have not tested moving, deleting and other file activities other than a few times (but before nothing would move delete or rename a file, fingers crossed)
