My new U22 box seems to have unstable video output. Basically the screen drops out for a fraction of a second, sometimes long enough that the TV thinks it is a new connection and it flashes the 2160p confirmation text. It's a new TV and I had a similar issue with the U9 box but that went away when I upgraded the HDMI cables to V2. Now the U9 video is stable on the new TV. The U22 seems stable on an old TV (no CEC) but when I power it on the TV sees no signal until I change the input away from the U22 input and then switch back to it. The U9 is fine on this TV. I have tried several HDMI cables and it seemed to be worse on one. Sometimes it settles down for long periods and sometimes it just gets unwatchable. I've experimented with as much as I can find in settings but nothing seems to impact it. I also don't lose audio when the video drops out. Ive donr my best to make sure that the cables are seated correctly and that there is no stress or movement in the cable that could effect connection.
BTW... I switched off the auto HDR/SDR stuff and it seemed (in my opinion) to improve the video quality. Vs the U9 the U22 has had a slightly washed out look.
Networking seems weak on the U22, I get higher definition from my U9 and they are side by side on the same TV/network etc running the same apps. The only thing I can think of is the apps can't cache the video fast enough to support higher video res. So maybe its the network. Having said that it's intermittent, YouTube delivered brilliant quality on the U22 this AM. The U22 is possibly a little close to the router for it's liking so I might try a wired connection but generally I've found that Android expects WiFi and a wired connection seems to through some things off.
I'm a little lost with this one, nothing seems to be totally consistent, it is frustrating to trouble shoot. It often seems like it has been fixed then an hour later it's back again!
Any clues would be appreciated.
Thanks.
