HDR on U1

Thank you for your quick reply. Isn´t there a fix for that? Is the old android version the issue?

IMHO HDR just does not live up to the hype. I fussed around to get my whole system HDR compatible including the U(-H player with compatible AmLogic chip but found the HDR movies very dark. When I say dark I don't mean "washed out" colors which is the sure sign you don't have an HDR compatible chip, I mean very lacking in brightness and color intensity.

I am not the only one experiencing this as VERY many people on the AV forums have the same problems.

Thank you guys! Would you recommend me another Minix Box for my C9 OLED? I am not a huge fan of WebOS.

Well, you can choose one of the last MINIX models :
U9-H is HDR compatible
NEO T5 is HDR and Android TV compatible
U22 will be available at the end of march.

As SkyNet said above - I have a U9-H (HDR compatible) which I got to replace my Odroid C2 (HDR not supported) and did SEE the difference when comparing the two. The Minix also has the best fanless thermal solution in the business so it's hard to go wrong with the U9-H.

I cannot speak for the newer "fancy" models as I have no experience with them but would comment that I had far and away the best experiece with AmLogic chips vs. Intel. These boxes, especially the U9-H coupled with CoreElec, "just work" for both video and surround without need for fussing around with settings/drivers etc.
