Just a google play hiccup?

For the last week or so I've been watching Netflix and haven't bothered with other apps. Last night I went to play 'nova video player' and 'kodi' to play some saved shows and the apps on desktop were grayed out. Odd I thought. Then realized neither would play (can't remember the error). Went to google play to download both again and it tried a few times, appeared to downloaded okay, but said it couldn't install either. I sideloaded the apks and it's fine.
Anyone else notice similar problems?
 
THank you. I removed the sideloaded apps and tried play store again and it was fine. Just a hiccup I guess. I'd just never seen an app disable itself like that.
