Kodi upgrade With neo x7

Hi i have a neo x7 running Kodi 16.1-Jarvis v7a which works fine but I can’t seem to upgrade to newer version of the kodi software at all.
is 16.1 the best for an older box or am I doing something wrong With the newer version.

Kodi 17 and above require Android 5 and above.

searching google for "kodi 17 android 4.4.2" may yield some results that you could try

The semi-official Minix 4.4.2 FW250 firmware is buggy for the X7, I had made a link for the issues if you search the forums.

Stick with the latest official Minix 4.2.2 FW010 and use a 17.6 Kodi fork or LibreELEC for best experience.

Hi thanks for this info i managed to install it on minix 4.2.2 and your kodi apk provided.

When i try to stream a video either from internal network or internet de app crashes directly with no direct error message.

Did you experience this also how to fix it?

Just found out disabling hardware acceleration did the trick

I have the same problem. as soon as I click on the video the app closes. I tried to disable, "Force GPU rendering" but nothing changes
