Minix U9 remote controlling my TV

Hey guys, I connected my Minix U9 to my newly bought TV (TCL 6 series 55") and I'm having an odd issue.
When I'm withing the U9's UI and press the up arrow button on the default Minix remote, this causes the TV's echo system (Roku) to go on the home page and the box powers off. I've tried putting in another HDMI port and even turning off CEC but that doesn't resolve. What's even more odd is when the box is turned off, pressing the up arrow button seems to be talking to the TV (I can hear the menu sounds).

Before I contact TCL support wanted to see if anyone has ever faced this issue or has any ideas.
Thanks.

The small default Minix U9 remote functions are RF IR and apparently some functions of the remote are in the same frequency of the RF IR system of the TV. That is a very unlikely situation to happen, yet possible. You could go partially(*) around the situation acquiring a Wifi or RC dongle controlled remote, preferably one such as http://minix.com.hk/products/neo-a2-lite or http://minix.com.hk/products/neo-a3 so you don't have to use the default remote to power on the box, since the power on is an RF IR function present in the two Minix remotes I mentioned.

Apart from the great advantages this would bring you in controlling the Minix box, as these remotes have a wider range of assets that are not present in the default remote, the functions are activated from a dongle attached to one of the USB ports in the box, and so they wouldn't interfere with the TV functions.

(*) However the TV remote will probably still interfere with the Minix box if by chance you select the same function in the TV remote that is being selected in the TV by the Minix default remote nowadays.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there doesn't seem to be a way to change the pre-set IR commands in the remotes so you could somehow avoid the situation you are having for the moment between the two equipments.

Thanks for your response. To be honest I've been wanting to get a wifi remote for the minix for a while but haven't pulled the trigger yet, I do find that small remote annoying sometimes, no air mouse and using the kore app for keyboard functions.

Until I can get a wireless mouse for the minix box I'll just use the kore app for the time being. The main issue is that remote since it controls the tv so using the wireless app would solve that. I also have the Roku app, great remote functionality from that also, though I don't mind the default ir remote honestly, it's a small little clicky remote. Thanks for your responses!
