To root, try this update-gufone-root-x8.zip
To unroot, try this update-gufone-unroot-x8.zip

Please test as I don't have anymore the X8.

Yes i agree. @Manuel Freitas please confirm first what minix do you have, check the back side (label name). Minix x8h-plus and x8-h are different devices.

At the Playstore, look for SuperSU, that must be the one you need. You will need root, but you know that. I hope you know what you are doing, good luck.

Do you actually read the help you are given ?
I provided you with a link on how to install an updated ROM and if you actually went there you would find that the ROM was already rooted.
